I Will Not Let You Fall

With a frown the young woman caught up to Bette. ”Then what was it that you were saying? Or weren’t, for that matter.”

”There’s no division into good and bad when it comes to love. There’s no right and wrong. Imagine being ready to die for someone and feeling like it would be the most pure, holy thing to do,” Bette mused, giving Ayola a soft, fragile smile. ”That is madness.”

Afternoon shifts were Bette’s favorite since there were not as much customers at the restaurant as there were during evening shifts. Moreover, when deserted, the restaurant was a very peaceful place to spend time at. Bette was still adjusting to social interaction and developing group etiquette, so patrons with propensity to babble nonstop could sometimes be problematic and exasperating for the brunette to deal with. Years of practice of controlling her temper and personal feelings did good for her now, not allowing her to go off at obnoxious drunks and presumptuous upper class members.

On various nights of the week the restaurant featured live music with local bands ranging from country, to flamenco guitar, to jazz, blues, and funk. Sometimes the bands came in the early afternoon to rehearse.

Bette was wiping a wine glass with a bar towel as she let her mind stray from it while watching three musicians performing a pleasing tune on the scene. Her eyes focused on the guitarist and his hand moving up and down the guitar’s smooth finish. With the slow, deliberate movements of each finger, the musician held the instrument close to his chest like a shield, handling it with gentleness and purpose. Bette observed the dark oak wood guitar, hypnotized by its sensual curvature, its surface so polished that she could almost see her own distant reflection gazing back at her. And oh how heavenly it sounded against Bette’s ears. The taut strings created the most beautiful sound she had experienced in forever. The music moved through her, carrying so much meaning and emotion. Bette had missed the sound dearly. She missed the feel of the wooden body against her own, missed the feel of its neck, the strings beneath her fingertips. The thought of playing again caused a sudden sharp pang deep inside of her.

    1. Hi Valerie,

Just had a break when i saw that you posted a new update.

It is fantastic that Bette is finding her way back in life and has such a wonderfull friend in Ayola.

So they finally met again, wonder what Tina has to tell Bette. You are such a naughty girl to not disclose it in this chapter.

Why do i have a feeling that Tina moved on with Helena?! That would be the ultimal betrayal that she could inflict on Bette.

Can i pursue you to answer that question via a pm to me?! I would go crazy till you update again, so please, please tell me🙏

      Thanks for the update!

    3. Hi Valerie:

What a wonderful surprise, (not only for us but for Bette and Tina too), an excellent story, as Bibi I want to know what is coming; but I’ll wait, I know you’ll never let us fall in TIBETTE’s matter.????

I think it’s going to be hard, but they have to find their way back to each other, that type of love can’t be downgraded to friendship, it’s a whole thing or its nothing, I don’t think they have more choices.❤

Valerie, I appeal to your kindness, PLEASE UPDATE SOON !!!????

      Thanks for the wonderful chapter.????

    4. Thanks for the Update!!!
this is my fav fanfiction so far..
it breaks my heart seeing how hard for Bette to get her life back..so much that she has lost..
couldn’t imagine if ayola wasn’t there to help her.
but i hope they stay their relationship as friend..cos i’m still hoping somehow, somewhere Bette and Tina could find their way back together..and this time Tina could proof her love to Bette by staying by her side as her promised.
it’s suprised me that Tina has moved on with her life and has lived together with someone else…
i really thought after Tina read Bette’s handwriting in her apartment, Tina would tried with all her power to proof her love to Bette by keeping her promise to stay by waiting for Bette…

now that Tina and Bette has met again, please..please…please…. don’t let us waiting too long..
couldn’t wait to read for the next Chapter..

      great Job Valerie…!!!
