    Bette has to decide when to call Tina

    Shane was at The Planet a lot and I heard little things about Tina. I relished that. It wasn’t usually much. Shane typically would respond to a question that Alice had posed such as where was Tina. Shane’s response usually was working, home, or she didn’t know. I always held my breath until it passed that she wasn’t on a date. That probably would have destroyed me.

    I really liked Shane. She was not someone that I probably would have become friends with had we just met but her friendship with Alice opened an unexpected door for me. She was a nice person. She was warm. I could tell she was loyal to her friends. She was funny as hell. She was the person that I used to be in regards to the women.

    We were there one morning when Alice actually had to go to work. That was something that we both had to tease her about since it seemed that her office was at a table in The Planet. When she left, Shane and I sat there talking. We had crossed that line that we were friends. She wasn’t just Alice’s friend. We had exchanged phone numbers and she had been to the house numerous times. She looked at me. I wondered what she had to ask me since she was hesitating and gave her a break.

    “Shane, you can ask me anything.”

    “Thanks. I don’t know. I guess, I never knew you until a couple weeks ago and then heard a lot about your reputation. That’s not the person I see. I guess I’m just curious is that stuff true that I heard.”

    “If you heard that I was a dog, then yes it’s probably true. I frequently enjoyed differing women. You know that I got shot at work. When I woke up I realized I wasn’t happy with my life any longer having just casual sex. I decided to take a break. I haven’t gone back. We are a lot alike I think in our pasts.”

    “Do you miss it?”

    “Hell yes at times. I miss sex a lot but I don’t miss waking up to someone and not knowing who they are. I don’t miss trying to come up with a lie not to see them again. I don’t miss women coming up to me and accusing me of promises I don’t remember making.”

    2. Love how you’ve given both versions of this. Alice too funny. I know just how that is. ONce one of my friends, did it in my car, like 1min. from being home. Come on though, when are the going to really see each other. Hoping Bette going with her art and gives up being a cop.

    4. You just had to throw in a little trip to delay the date, you are evil. You tease us with Tina telling Bette they don’t have to wait until the 23rd and then you hit us with a trip to Spokane. I’m with Zheese…More, now, please!!!!

    6. If I was Tina I’d want to hear from Bette before the trip to set up the date for after. Looks like you are allowing room for Tina to feel that Bette has lost inerest and then some drama will follow no doubt ; ) Or perhaps you don’t want to torture us???

    9. Oh NAG, I can never get enough of you. No matter how many pages you write…or stories for that matter, I always want more. This was great. It won’t be two months, but it will be the 2 chapters I’ll bet like I suspected until they actually go out. That’s O.K., I will anticipate the whole time.

    11. I loved how Tina jumped in to help out Bette with this sammy woman. Alice all out of it and talking about Dana was fun. Now not only does it look like Bette and Tina may start to date but Alice may have finally found someone else besides Gabby.

    12. very nice! now, we don’t want Tina getting all het up about Bette not calling for a couple of days, so how about Bette breaks down and calls before she goes to Spokane, and maybe they get toegther for dinner, and then maybe……? LOL!
