“So are you now holding out until you meet the one?”
“I don’t know.” I didn’t want to tell her too much about my thoughts. She was still Tina’s friend and Tina and I still needed to talk. “I guess I’m just letting things happen. If I meet the one, great. If I don’t, I’ll survive.”
We continued talking and I found it easy to talk to her. I hadn’t had that experience often in my life. Even with Alice, there were things I didn’t talk about because she would piss me off by not being serious. Shane, it seemed over time would be a good person to have in my life to have those type of discussions with.
Alice kept calling me to let me know that Cammy was coming to town and we had to go out. Cammy was her ex. Probably the one that I liked the most. She and Alice dated for awhile and then a terrific job opportunity came up. She and Alice talked about it and she took it. They tried to do the long distance thing but that didn’t work out. Cammy met someone and Alice met Gabby. Cammy though met someone sane and they had been together for a couple of years now. She found herself back in LA every couple of months and we all got together for dinner. Alice wouldn’t admit to me or even herself that she always wanted me there as a buffer. She still had feelings for Cammy. Not love probably but lust and if drunk, there was no telling what Alice may try especially if she and Gabby were on an off time.
We met at Alice’s and went out for Thai. Cammy told us over dinner that she and her girlfriend were trying to have a baby with her partner being the one to carry the child. Any feelings that Al may have had for her went out the window with that comment and we went on to have a good time. Both Alice and Cammy wanted to dance and both had too much to drink over dinner so I ended up going to the club with them when I would rather have gone home but someone needed to drive. It was packed when we got there. Alice of course knew the guy at the door and we didn’t have to wait. I went to the bar and ordered myself a cranberry and seltzer and each of them Mojito’s. I forced my way through the crowd trying to get to the table that they had gone to get. My ass must have been pinched a dozen times and I almost dropped the drinks a couple times. I was so thankful to see them. They took their drinks like they were parched and stuck in the desert. I hoped that they didn’t want to stay too long. There were just too many women here that I had a past with. Granted that past was only one night but I, from where I was sitting, could pick out at least six.

NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG!!!!! This is so good…but I want MORE! NOW! DANGIT! The convo with all a drunken Al in the car cracked me up: “I’m going to be sick.” I could see Al doin’ all that! Glad you put she and Dana together in this story! That’s just awesome! But you’re really draggin’ this *date night* out, woman! NAAAAAAAAAAG! Love how you’ve given both versions of this. Alice too funny. I know just how that is. ONce one of my friends, did it in my car, like 1min. from being home. Come on though, when are the going to really see each other. Hoping Bette going with her art and gives up being a cop.

You just had to throw in a little trip to delay the date, you are evil. You tease us with Tina telling Bette they don’t have to wait until the 23rd and then you hit us with a trip to Spokane. I’m with Zheese…More, now, please!!!!

If I was Tina I’d want to hear from Bette before the trip to set up the date for after. Looks like you are allowing room for Tina to feel that Bette has lost inerest and then some drama will follow no doubt ; ) Or perhaps you don’t want to torture us???

Oh NAG, I can never get enough of you. No matter how many pages you write…or stories for that matter, I always want more. This was great. It won’t be two months, but it will be the 2 chapters I’ll bet like I suspected until they actually go out. That’s O.K., I will anticipate the whole time.

I loved how Tina jumped in to help out Bette with this sammy woman. Alice all out of it and talking about Dana was fun. Now not only does it look like Bette and Tina may start to date but Alice may have finally found someone else besides Gabby.
very nice! now, we don’t want Tina getting all het up about Bette not calling for a couple of days, so how about Bette breaks down and calls before she goes to Spokane, and maybe they get toegther for dinner, and then maybe……? LOL!
Leave it to Alice to be puking on the side of the road! Hope Bette gets into the show, PPS
