Ill feed her. She says,

No, please let me. Bette says as she wipes away the tears.

Kit nodded her head and laid Angelica down in Bettes arms.

She then handed Bette the food that Alice had bought.

Ill go and call Emily. Sean says and stands up and walks over to the phones.

Shane could you help me? Bette asks and looks at Shane.

Sure. Shane says and stands up and takes a seat next to Bette and Angelica. Bette gives her the food bottle.

Could you open it for me and maybe asks the nurses if they have a spoon? Bette says. Shane stands up. She walks out of the waiting room and over to the reception.

Hi, I was wondering if I could borrow a spoon. My friend has to feed her baby. Shane says in a calm voice.

Yeah sure, hold on. The reception lady says and reach over to a desk and pulls out one of the drawers.

Here you go. The lady says and gives Shane the spoon.

Thank you. Shane says and walks back to Bette.

Sean has just hanged up with Emily.

How are they doing? Bette asks as Sean sits down beside Bette again.

Mom is taking it hard. He replies. Being so far away. He adds.

I know. Bette says.

Then the nurse enters again.

Tina is now back in ICU. And I talked to the Doctor and he said you both could see her. Nurse Anne says.

Thank you. Both Sean and Bette says.

Could we see her now? Bette asks.

Yes, just follow me. Nurse Anne says.

Kit, could you take her? Bette asks.

Sure. Kit says and stands up and takes Angelica from Bette. Bette, why dont I take her home, and come back in the morning and bring you some clothes. Kit suggests.

Yeah, that would be good. Bette agrees. She kiss Angelica goodbye on her cheek and follow Sean and the nurse.

They stop outside the door. They both take a deep breath. Sean grabs Bettes hand. Bette is surprised but squeezes it tightly. They look at each other and walk in. There is Tina lying pale and with the respirator not able to breathe on her own. Sean thought he was prepared but nothing could prepare him for this. He breaks down. Bette put her arms around him and comforts him the best she can. After a few minutes he gets himself together and walks over to Tinas side.

Bette takes Tinas hand in hers. She looks at the machine which is keeping Tina alive at this moment.

Oh my, how could this happen? Sean whispers.

Bettes eyes are dripping, she cant believe it herself. Hadnt they been trough enough?
