At the hospital, Tina is moved into the ICU to be monitored properly.
She keeps calling out Bettes name, but Bette is not allowed in. After 15 minutes the doctor comes out and walks towards Bette, whos in tears.
Bette? The doctor asks as he reaches out his hand.
Yeah, how is she? How is the baby? Bette asks as she shakes his hand.
Theyre both fine, we just needed to stabilize them. Has anything happened lately to trigger this, that can be stress or Bette knows where he is going so she interrupts him.
She met her family, who she hasnt seen in 8 years, and they have had a few days of talking, emotional stuff. Bette says.
Okay, thats the cause. Well keep her at least the rest of the night, and well do a new evaluation tomorrow. The doctor says.
Can I see her, please? Bette asks.
Sure, wait here, I will get a nurse to get you. Well bring her to a ordinary room. The doctor says.
Just then Emily and the parents arrive. They see Bette stand there with her face in her hands, and thinks the worst, but then she lift her head and a slight smile appears, tears are falling but that is happy tears.
How is she? Emily asks.
Shes fine, theyre both fine. Bette replies.
What was it? Joanna asks.
The last days stress level. It was too much for her. Theyll keep her here tonight and then have a new evaluation tomorrow. Bette says.
She will probably need all the rest she can get. I was thinking of bringing her back to LA. Bette says. Emily nodded her head, she understood.
I have to go call Sean, hes worried sick. Ill be right back. Emily says and gives Bette a hug. Im glad shes okay. She whispers and leaves.

Sean was almost asleep as the phone ring.
Yeah, how is she? he asks before Emily could say anything.
Shes okay, so is the baby, it was just the stress level the last few days. Emily says.
Thank God shes okay. He replies.

Back in the waiting area a nurse is entering calling out Bettes name.
Bette turns and looks at Joanna and Jeffrey.
You dont need to be here, Ill tell Tina you came, maybe I can call you tomorrow and you can pick us up? Bette asks.
Yes, sure, just call. Go be with Christina, she needs you. Joanna says.
Thank you. Bette replies and gives them a hug. She then leaves with the nurse. The nurse show Bette the door, but doesnt go in with her.
Bette stops a little before she goes in, she wipes away the tears. Then slowly walks in. Tina is awake. Bette walks over to the bedside and takes Tinas hand in hers.
Hey, baby, how are you feeling? Bette asks. Tina could see that Bette had been crying.
Im good now. Im sorry. Tina says.
What do you have to be sorry about? Bette asks a little surprised.
For putting our baby in jeopardy. I should have known that this emotional rollercoaster Ive been on these last few days could affect my pregnancy in some way. Tina says.
No, baby, dont blame yourself. There was no way we couldve known. Youre okay, and that is whats important right now. Bette says as she moves her hand up to Tinas face and gently stroke Tinas cheek.
And Im taking you home. We got us a little scare now, but Ill feel better if we went home. Bette says as she looks into Tinas eyes. Tina agrees by nodding her head.
I agree baby, lets go home. Tina says and smiles.
Tina moves a little so Bette can crawl in next to her. They lay in silence for a little while.
I was so scared. Bette opens up. You were in so much pain and I couldnt do anything to make it go away. Bette says. She has her head on Tinas chest as Tina plays with Bettes hair.
Im okay, and you did plenty, just by being by my side, holding my hand. Tina replies.
I wouldnt have wanted to be anywhere else. Bette says.
I love you so much Bette. Tina says and kisses Bettes forehead.
I love you too T. Bette says and intertwines her fingers in Tinas.
They fall asleep.
A nurse wakes them up the next morning smiling. Bette gets out of the bed and takes a seat in the chair holding on to Tinas hand.
The doctor will be here shortly. Maybe you will go and get some breakfast? The nurse says to Bette.
No, can she stay? I want her by my side. Tina says as she looks pleading at the nurse.
Okay. The nurse says. She checks the journal at the end of the bed to see if Tina needed any medication. She looks up surprised. She stares at Tina for a second.
Are you okay? Tina asks as she glances over at Bette and back to the nurse.
Im sorry, I didnt mean to stare at you, but your name. It says here that your name is Tina Kennard, is your real name Christina? The nurse asks.
Yes, it is, but I havent used Christina in 8 years or so. Tina says, still a little unsure of where the nurse is going with this.
Oh my God. I didnt recognize you, you used to have longer hair and a little darker, right? The nurse asks smiling.
Yeah, may I ask who you are? Tina asks curiously.
Apparently you dont recognize me, Im Katie Wills. Katie says.
Oh my, Katie, No I didnt recognize you at all, how long has it been? 16 years or so? Tina says smiling.
Bette is still sitting in the chair, amazed at the reconnecting at what seems to be old friends.
Yeah, something like that, the end of High School. Katie says.
My God, how have you been? Katie asks moving up to Tinas side.
Well, I moved to LA 8 years ago, where I met Bette. Tina says looking over smiling at Bette. We got married and now were having a baby. Tina finishes. Katie looks a little surprised.
Wow, youre married to a woman? Katie asks, looking a little uncomfortable.
Yeah, is something wrong? Tina asks as she sees the look on Katies face.
No, Im just surprised, you used to be the most guy crazy of us all Katie says. Bette is surprised by this and smiles to herself.
Yeah, time changes people. I met Bette, and I new right away, that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. Tina says and smiles over at Bette, who is also smiling. Bette stands up and reaches out her hand to Katie.
Bette Porter, nice to meet you. She says.
Katie Wills, nice to meet you too. Katie replies.
So what have you been doing these last 16 years? Tina asks.
Well, I moved away right after High School, I was so tired of this place. I moved to New York, and got a job at an Old Folks Home as an assistant.
I liked it, so after a few years there, I got back to school and got a nursing degree. Then I moved back here, got a job and met a handsome doctor. We got married 6 years ago, and we have two kids. Two boys. Katie says.
Wow, thats nice. Tina replies.
Yes it is. So what bring you back here after 8 years? Katie asks.
My brother Sean got in an accident. Hes fine now, he recovered quickly. But I also came to talk to my parents. They kind of shut me out after I told them I had fallen in love with Bette. Tina says.
They didnt? Katie is surprised.
Yep, they did. But it all worked out finally. And then I got here with some stress. Tina says smiling a little.
Well, I hope youll be okay, and that youll have a healthy baby, maybe next time youre in town we could hook up? Katie suggests.
