    In Transition 14

Do you mind if we go somewhere else more quiet? I dont want to have to shout in order for you to hear me.

I could see what she meant, since she practically had to say that right next to my ear.

How about my place? I mean my mom and dad have to go to Jersey for a wedding, so we have the place to ourselves. Oh god, did I just invited Aly back to my place? *****!!! Why did I do that? I could have suggested going for some coffee, anything really.

But before I could say anything, Aly agreed. No turning back now.

We were silent in our own comprehensions. Doubts and confusion filled my minds. Why am I here with her really? What do I want out of this? I love Shane now, right?

Youre only doing this for closure. This is the only way to move on. Or so I told myself.

I walked pass Aly, not looking into her eyes, partly afraid of what I would see there. I opened the door and stepped through. I knew that Aly followed me in without even having to look. It was a part of me was tuned to her presence.

The silence was deafening, building up the tension in the room. It was too much for me to take. I blurted out, I missed you. I knew that I should not have said that even if it was the truth. I swallowed nervously, awaiting her response.

You dont act like it, Aly said it matter-of-factly without any hint of accusation. It was as if she has accepted it as a fact. I saw you walking out with someone that night at the club.

That was Shane, and yes we are together. I let out a sigh. I have said it, and whatever it was between Aly and I was over. And that was the way I wanted itrightexactly.

She raised my chin up, so I would have to meet her gaze. And you are happy? She looked at me, imploring me to tell her what I had no idea. Her eyes were twinkling dangerously.
