Bette embraced her tightly with both arms, and Helena relaxed against her.

Snuggling her face into Helena’s neck, she peppered tiny kisses all over her.

“Oh, Darling,” Helena cooed, looking up and taking Bette’s lips with hers. “I feel like I’ve at last come home.”

Bette smiled. “So the genie is happy?”

“Yes. So very happy,” Helena said softly.

“Me too. You’ve fulfilled all my wishes this evening.”

    Chapter 21

They rested and held one another for quite some time.

The air between them was filled with murmurs and coos.

Helena kissed Bette and rolled over to remove herself from the bed.

“Where are you going?” Bette asked, reaching for her unsuccessfully.

“I’ll be right back, Darling. I’m just going to get us some of that lovely sparkling wine we were sipping earlier with the strawberry,” Helena smiled, turning to look over her shoulder to Bette. “Would you like me to bring the other strawberry as well?”

“Mmm. Please. But hurry back,” Bette replied, snuggling her head into the pillow. “I may fall asleep without you here next to me.”

Helena laughed. “You just need some sugar.”

“Mm-hmm. I need your sweetness,” Bette smiled, caressing her fingertips around Helena’s, that she had reached out to her.

Helena leaned over to kiss Bette’s lips before exiting the room. Bette watched her naked body stroll leisurely to the foot of the bed and around it, in front of the fireplace. Helena ambled through the doorway, and already Bette was anxious for her return.

    ************

Hearing Helena’s footsteps approach quietly, Bette sat up in bed, her breasts unhidden, uncovered by any sheets or spreads.

When Helena came through the door and looked at Bette, she stopped, overtaken by the sight of her. She almost dropped the tray she was carrying.

She sighed and smiled. Bette smiled back at her.

“Darling, you certainly know how to astound a girl.”

Helena proceeded to the nightstand and set down the tray with the glasses of effervescent wine and the lone strawberry.

Sitting on the bed next to Bette, Helena admired Bette’s face and form before taking her in her arms and kissing her.

As Helena leaned over to the table to retrieve the two glasses of wine, Bette fondled Helena’s breast.

    1. oh zheese, Im not falling for this, you aren’t fooling me!!…I know helena is NOT talking about Bette. What would Bette have to do with a tax write off??? I KNOW Helena is talking about a piece of art, a painting or a sculpture. Note to Bette…never make rash decisions based on incomplete information!

    2. Oh Bette, ye of little faith! Did that strawberry mean nothing to you? WTF zheese? We want detailed descriptions of their lovemaking. What’s the matter with you?

    3. oh how i love the drama….zheese, you are fabulous…to have your readers coming to virtual blows…that’s talent!!! PPS..you’re such a tease!!

    4. Okay, so I know that Helena wasn’t really talking about Bette like that to her mother. Maybe it’s another woman that her mother is talking about and wants her to meet her or something…right?? I know you won’t mess this lil’ rendezvous of love making til the wee hours of the morning..Well thanks 4 the read..

    5. no no, that wasn’t about bette…that was about someone peggy is trying to set helena up with, or someone peggy wants to get with who she’s asking her daughter advice over, or it’s about tina…and the tax write off is about the sweatshop labour that helena is trying to unload for tax/legality purposes…i’m happy for a cliffhanger, either way. lol@funnyone’s strawberry.

    6. Z tell me it’s not true what I just read, tell me you didn’t let Helena say these awful things about Bette. This is a nightmare if she really was talking about Bette. You better clarify this situation and quick

    7. Hello zheese, lets see I come home from work and I see a wonderful new addition to this story and bam… what do you leave me with… my mind is playing the possible paths this could take. I feel that Bette has every right to fear this kind of conversation considering the last important thing she said to Helena was not to hurt her and anyone given those circumstances hearing those words would take them to heart… it is the un-rationalization of the human heart and soul we think we aren’t worth of love and happiness when life has given us nothing but hurt and pain. PPS, you absolutely rock. Sincerely, JC

    8. One other thing… is the CAC a museum, I always thought it was an Art Gallery are they the same thing… it seems like she is talking about something different but Bette’s emotions might be omitting certain words in her mind… hmmmm… pps

    9. Hey Zheese, Yous are such a tricky soul. Slowing building up to a wonderful and passionate night between Bette and Helena only to have the carpet pulled from Bette’s feet as she eavsdropped on Helena’s conversation. I am reluctant to believe that Helena has been this heartless and is surely talking about something other than Bette. Now it is up to Bette to be the adult here and challenge Helena on these thoughts. Open and honest communication is the only way forward for them both. Can’t wait to see where this all leads. Many, many thansk for keeping me on my toes. Your Loyal Fan.

    10. This is actually going to make Bette look a little..what’s the word…stupid…when Helena finds her upset and leaving..and what is helena going to feel like to know that Bette would think the worst of her so quickly, especially after everything she did to make it all special and beautiful for Bette.

    11. Sounds like some good drama coming up !!! Yay ! Of course that’s not Bette she’s talking about, it just can’t be ! Even season 2-Helena wouldn’t have been such a b…, right ? ! Anyway, this is getting very thrilling and I’m soooooo loving this story !

    12. … well, I can see only 2 possibilities here : either Helena is speaking of somebody else than Bette, either she is trying to fool her mum – huh, as if fooling Peggy could be considered a “possibility” !! :-)) — now, I know you already posted the next chapter, but I still wanted to comment on that one, ’cause you just forgot your AN from chapter 19…… I suggest you to re-read it, again and again ;-))
