    Incomplete

"T, what’s this?" Bette said holding up the pink paper that she had found when she moved Tina’s dresser. Packing up to go to New York had uncovered a lot of pictures, lost artifacts, and hidden trash. Though Bette wasn’t quite sure what the little pink paper was. It had a little rose on the back of it, like if it was ripped out of pink notepad. Bette knew Tina hated the color pink, and she had certainly never saw a pink notepad around the house.

Tina, who was head deep in the closet, didn’t even bother to stick her head out to look. She was more focused on which shoes she would take to New York since she had too damn many. With a dismissive nod she said, "I don’t know look at it."

Bette unfolded the paper and read the print. It was Tina’s handwriting, scribbled on as if it were a piece of scratch paper. But the paper was not suitable for scratch paper, it was thick and the texture was almost silky smooth.

Bette read the words on the paper and tears filled her eyes. The paper was encrusted with dark black ink in a neat calligraphy that Tina had learned in Catholic school but didn’t use much. The neat writing composed a poem.

    Without you I’m incomplete.
You found a new love, I can’t compete.
You made your mistakes and I made mine,
But we belong together, come rain or shine.
I hope you can forgive all the pain I cause,
I almost took our daughter without a pause.
You are the best mother, I won’t ever forget,
I know that you still love me, I’m willing to bet.
But I don’t deserve you oh goddess of my heart,
So I’ll see you happy though we are apart.
Oh my heart goes crazy, every time we meet.
Don’t you know without you, I’m always incomplete.

Bette ran her finger over the words on the thick paper. The emotions seemed to pop out of the paper. She hadn’t known that Tina felt so strongly. When had she written this? When she was Henry? After she broke up with Henry and she was helping her with Jodi? When they started the affair? She had so many questions, but would Tina answer them?

Tina was not the same sweet innocent Southern Belle she was before, just as Bette was not the same hard ass workaholic and womanizer. Bette had been pushing Kelly away by being passive aggressive, not a typical Porter move, while Tina punched her square in the jaw when she found out the slutty blonde had gone into her house when her daughter was sleeping and tried to kiss and preposition her girlfriend.
