    Bette heard the doors as they started to slide close, then felt the tremor as they stopped in their tracks and opened again.

    “Oh…sorry.”

    Bette’s eyes sprang open at the familiar sound of the flustered voice, her hand automatically moving to adjust her shirt as she stood up straight.

    “Tina,” she choked out in shock.

    Her name was said almost in a whisper, but Tina would know that voice anywhere. Her dash to make the elevator brought her forward momentum to within two feet of the woman she still couldn’t get out of her mind, or her heart.  Not able to say anything, she just stood there taking in the beauty of woman before her as the doors closed and the elevator started its journey upward.

    Bette casually swung her purse off her shoulder and held it as a shield in front of her. “What are you doing here Tina?” she asked in what she hoped was a noncommittal voice.

    “I had to resche…” She was cut off as the elevator car screeched to a halt, causing her body to lurch forward into Bette.

     

    Follow up Chapter 2

    “What the…” Bette reached out and grabbed Tina’s arms, both for balance and to keep Tina from falling into her. “…fuck,” she grunted under the strain.

    The sudden and abrupt stop of the elevator caused Tina to stumble forward. She grabbed onto the hand railing that circled the inside of the elevator car, trying to stay on her feet and stop her from falling further into Bette’s body. However, feeling the grip of Bette’s fingers on her upper arms, she looked up and fell right into the tumultuous pools of Bette Porter’s eyes.

    “Oh..” Tina swallowed hard, mesmerized, just as she had been for a decade by the emotions emanating from Bette. “I…uh…sorry,” she stuttered as she pulled herself away from the heat of Bette’s fingers, surprised by just how hard it was to leave her touch, even one that wasn’t meant to convey warmth.

    Bette on the other hand, still in shock over the identity of her companion, was unable to speak out loud, so just stood silently staring at Tina. Her mind however was racing. This cannot be happening! Of all people to get stuck in an elevator with…I mean are you fucking kidding me?!…I need to get out of here… Shit, I should have gone to the bathroom before getting in this infernal car!

    4. Oh Sea this is so juicy. I know how you struggle to get these out and I must say you exceeded yourself with this effort. What an amazing tale. Great job I’m loving this story

    8. Ok there Sea, I have a few comments on this one. First, no fun leaving us hanging. Well, it is fun and teasing and not so light, but yeah it is fun. However, hanging, in an elevator, is not fun (so I would think) and since I have to go in one to get ANYWHERE in my 9-5, 5 days a week, I shall be energizing my life more and taking the stairs after I read this chapter! Nice post, as always, keep it coming!

    13. YEA!!!! and…you Rat- Leaving them (and us) hanging again. I love Emily and Dan sweating bullets and pacing above… although Emily seems to have had the light bulb go off that this is the best thing that could happen for these stubborn women. I am loving their interaction so far– it’s a sexy combination of angsty trepidation and yearning, sweetly hopeful. (i’d tell you to please post soon but i live in a glass house.)

    20. ok not only do you leave us hanging, you leave Bette and Tina hanging too, by a few cables?! EVIL has another name, it’s Seahurst.. =D hahahaha, you have to post more often if you want us to be able to keep hanging on! Well, hopefully they aolve everything before they get out of there, thanks so much and PPVS! =))
