    “T, I love you. I will always love you. That means I want you to be happy, and if Harr…Henry made you happy…”

    “But, that’s just it.” Tina shrugged. “I wasn’t.”

    “What?” Bette asked, shocked by Tina’s admission.

    Tina stared at her ex lover’s beautiful hands, noticing they were bare of rings. “What did you mean when you said just like I use to be before?” Tina asked.

    “Before what?” she whispered wishfully.

     

    Follow up Chapter 3

    Staring down at her fingers, Bette slowly looked up at Tina. Pursing her lips, she smiled. “Just before…” she slightly shrugged her shoulders. “You know…before everything started to fall apart.”

    Tina nodded her head in understanding. “Yeah,” she replied softly. She looked away for a moment, no longer use to the intensity that always emanated from Bette’s eyes, but then shook her head knowing that this was the moment. This was the time for them to talk…no agendas…just talking to see where it would take them. Fate had put them both in this broken down elevator at the exact same moment, and she made the decision to take advantage of it. Who knows when they would get another opportunity like this one?

    She smiled at Bette with more confidence. “Hmmm…before.” She chuckled softly. “Right…uh… am I the only one who wishes we went to therapy before I quit my job to quote, prepare my body, so someone who is trained in bullshit could have told us how ridiculous we were being?”

    The shout of laughter from Bette warmed Tina’s heart. She loved that sound…like Bette was totally surprised to find something funny, and couldn’t control the laughter from escaping.

    “We thought we were being so…I don’t know…true to Mother Earth…the cleansing of your body. We were the typical L.A. Zen wannabes.” Bette shook her head. “When in reality all we needed was Marcus’s healthy and abundant sperm.” She shook her head again, her voice growing sad. “We worked so hard on creating the perfect external environment surrounding getting pregnant, that we forgot to work on the internal workings of our relationship. And, we concentrated so hard on what our future family would look like that we forgot to concentrate on looking at each other.”

    5. Oh that was so perfect. I love that Tina figured it out herself. Its better that way, funny actually when you think that Bette missed all the signs of Tina’s pregnacy and ended up being embarassed by Helena getting it before Bette did. This is Tina at her best now the question is what will Tina do with this knowledge. Great Chapter Seahurst thanks for the telling

    8. Never saw that one coming. Now I want to know Tinas’ next comment. Also I want Tina to continue to tell Bette what she was about to say. They both need to hear it and talk about it so very much. Thanks for posting.

    17. Ally–you are freakin’ hysterical! I loved your comment! OK, so that was amazing. The simple flow of the story, going along and having Bette and Tina have this amazing dialog, and then BAM–ginger candy which I remember well from my days! Now that she understands that Bette is pregnant, what will Tina do? This is truly the time where I think they’ll be tested and I can’t wait to find out where they go from here. The easy road would be for Tina to walk away and go back to life as it was before she understood Bette is pregnant, but I don’t think Tina could do that. I think it would haunt her that Bette is pregnant and she isn’t part of it, that’s love. Keep on going!

    21. Cliffhanger! I kinda thought with the combination of Bette’s baggy clothes and Bette’s therapist making that comment about telling Tina something that Bette might be pregnant. I wanna know if either one of them is in a relationship! Bette doesn’t have any rings on so that’s a good sign. I want Tina to finish her sentence…..

    23. Haven’t been to the site in ages and stopped by on a whim. What a reward I got when I found a new story by you! So great to be here and to read your writing again. I’ve missed the stories and I’ve really missed Bette and Tina. Thanks for keeping the faith and the muse! I’ll be around again because I must see how this story goes.
