Chapter 1

Tina Kennard told herself to obey her moral conscious, what she has been doing is not right – not to the kids not to all party involved. “I’m trying to do what’s right,” she reminded herself.  But what is the right thing to do – definitely not breaking up a marriage.  She‘s not breaking up the marriage but merely loving the woman she choose to love despite the situation they’re in. She chooses to allow happiness into her life in the form of a woman – Bette Porter.

Tina had been seeing Bette Porter for over a year now. They’re very much in love. Tina couldn’t go even a day without thinking about the woman she loves.  Bette’s the only person that matter to her. The sky can fall, the sun can stop shining, and the world can crash, but as long as Tina is love by her woman she doesn’t have the care in the world – for Bette is her only world. 

Again today, Bette can’t leave her family to spend alone time with Tina.  “I’m sorry Tee, Jay invited his friends over and I have to be there. Of course I want to be with you too but I really can’t. I promise I’ll make an effort to see you tomorrow,” said Bette to an irate Tina. The last time they were together was two days ago.  However, Tina did see Bette every weekday when she stopped by to say hi to her on her way after she dropped her children off at school.

She was saddened and upset by this – they rarely get to spend much time together – without Bette canceling this day and that day – either her kids get in the way or her husband. Yes her husband, her kind, loving, caring husband – the man Tina wishes to never exist. If only she could meet Bette first, fall in love, and create her own family with Bette.

Tina’s a twenty-five years old school teacher at Raydall Academy – the school where Bette’s youngest daughter, Angelica, and her son, Julian also attend. Tina was drawn to Bette the moment she saw the beautiful, tall, confident, brunette walked gracefully into her class with Angelina during her first day of school as a kindergartener. Her heart skipped so many beats when Bette introduced herself as Angelica’s mother.  She kindly asked Tina to take good care of very shy daughter. Tina reprimanded herself for even finding the married woman attractive.
