    Shane comes to terms, Bette speaks with Tina.

    Alice was the most excited to see Carmen. She was the one who had broke the news to Carmen that Shane was going to leave her at the altar. She felt like she had seen that pain face to face. Helena was also happy to see Carmen, and they were both apologetic when it came to the outcome of their time spent in Whistler, as they seemed to be the most affected by the turnout. Jenny and Shane hadn’t shown up yet, and that was starting to worry Carmen. She was losing her nerve. She could hear Jenny’s voice though at the front of the house and steadied herself.

    When Jenny came in, she ran to Carmen and jumped in her arms.

    "Carmen! Oh my God, I’m so happy to see you! What are you doing here?" Jenny asked.

    "I’m visiting some loved ones." Carmen looked towards Megan and winked. This didn’t go unoticed by everyone in the room.

    Including Shane, who had just walked through the door.

    "Carmen?"

    "Hi, Shane." Carmen maintained her composure, trying hard not to slap Shane. She told herself this wasn’t the place or the time, and she was with Megan so it didn’t matter how angry she was. She had the prettiest girl in the room on her arm.

    "What are you doing here?"

    "I’m visiting old friends, hanging out with my girlfriend."

    Megan felt her heart lighten and she couldn’t control the smile on her face. Her first girlfriend. She made the mental note. Megan Porter and Carmen Morales. She grinned, thinking of how lucky she was to get a girl like this on her first try.

    Shane could feel a twinge of grief in her heart. Not only had she hurt this girl, she had moved on without a slight hesitation of prying back into her life, no matter how vicariously. She also had no idea how to make it right.

    "You’re girlfriend is Megan?"

    "Yeah. Well, it’s nice to see you again Shane. Megan, you want to go and see if Helena needs any help in the kitchen?"

    "Yeah, okay." Megan got up, ignoring the stares from everyone else in the room.

    Shane’s attention turned to Bette, "How….no, why did you let that happen?"

    "Let what happen? I had nothing to do with that. They met each other and hit it off. Actually when she told me, Kit, and Helena, we all told her not go down that route." Bette said.

    3. Helena trusting Bette bodes well for their relationship. It’s understandable that Tina would have difficulty letting Bette go (who wouldn’t?), but she seems sincere about not standing in Belena’s way. Good for her.

    5. I was wondering when you coming back! I’m glad to see you post a new chapter and I like that Bette and Tina finally made amends and Helena did trust her to have dinner with her. As for Shane and Megan, it’s good that Shane isn’t going to stand in Megan and Carmen’s way either. Can’t wait for the next chapter. PPS.
