    Shane comes to terms, Bette speaks with Tina.

    "I don’t even know why you care, Shane." Jenny said, "Honestly, you left her at the altar. She didn’t leave you. Is it so wrong for her to move on, albeit with someone so close to us now, but it’s not like you haven’t been with other girls since Carmen."

    "So, what? Am I supposed to just sit here and get over it?"

    "I suggest you do." Bette said, "Because if you touch a hair on my sister’s head, I’ll kill you."

    Dinner was smooth, without any weird awkwardness, surprisingly. Everybody asked about what Carmen had been up to. She’d just been DJ-ing at different gigs and just trying to make ends meet. Alice offered her a gig on The Chart to which Carmen happily complied.

    While Jenny, Carmen, and Alice played with Angelica and Kit and Angus went back home, Shane pulled Megan to the side outside by the pool.

    "Look, you’ve become pretty important to me in the month that you’ve been here. And I’m not going to say I’m not freaked out by all of this—you and Carmen that is—but I’m not going to let what she and I had interfere with a friendship that we can have, because I view Bette as my older sister and family is more important to me than anything. I just don’t want anybody to end up hurt in the situation."

    "Me either. Thanks, Shane. And I’m truly sorry about the way things ended up with you two."

    "Don’t be. Maybe in another lifetime, we’d be perfect. Just not now."

    Meanwhile….

    Bette and Helena were washing dishes.

    "Dinner was spectacular." Bette said softly.

    "Thanks."

    "I need to talk to you about something." Helena turned around to stare her lover in the eyes.

    "Anything, babe."

    "Tina sent a note with Megan when she picked up Angelica. She wants me to have dinner with her tomorrow to talk about something."

    "Okay."

    "What do you think?"

    "As much as I don’t like the thought of you and Tina being in such close quarters, I think you need the closure. And I trust you." Bette smiled. She hadn’t heard anybody say that she was trustworthy in long time and it made her ego skyrocket.

    "Thanks, Helena." Bette kissed her briefly, "You don’t know how wonderful it is to hear somebody say that they trust you." Bette kissed Helena’s neck and shoulders.

    3. Helena trusting Bette bodes well for their relationship. It’s understandable that Tina would have difficulty letting Bette go (who wouldn’t?), but she seems sincere about not standing in Belena’s way. Good for her.

    5. I was wondering when you coming back! I’m glad to see you post a new chapter and I like that Bette and Tina finally made amends and Helena did trust her to have dinner with her. As for Shane and Megan, it’s good that Shane isn’t going to stand in Megan and Carmen’s way either. Can’t wait for the next chapter. PPS.
