Chapter 19: “Is it too soon to ask you to be my wife?”

Alice arrives at Bette and Tina’s an hour later after Tina rings her to tell her she’s home from dress shopping. Alice was determined to get Tina in her new dress if it killed her. They were in Bette and Tina’s bedroom getting ready for Bette’s surprise at the gallery

“Hey Al thanks for this, Bette’s supposed to be taking me out tonight for our anniversary and I wanna look perfect” Alice smiles loudly. Bette was planning to propose to Tina tonight at the gallery after a romantic candle lit dinner and a dance under the stars in the rooftop garden

“Don’t worry you will” Tina smiles at her friend. Alice had helped Tina and Bette through the cancer scare, the near breakup and she had been a pillar of strength after Bette’s father died. They won’t know what to do without her in these difficult situations anymore “That’s have a peek at your new dress then” Tina smiles and blushes loudly. She opens the bag and takes out a stunning pink bare back ankle length dress with beading around the v neck. Alice’s mouth falls to the floor “Fucking hell that must have cost a fortune” Tina smiles and hangs the dress up on the wardrobe. Alice couldn’t believe how beautiful the dress was. Bette would die when she saw Tina in that dress.

“Half my weekly salary but hey it was worth it” Alice shakes her head, Tina’s taste in dresses never ceased to amaze her “I want to look perfect for tonight” Alice smiles and nods

“Wear your new dress” Tina looks at Alice, who shrugs her shoulders “Why not” Tina turns her head to look at her new dress “If you wanna look perfect for Bette it’s the exact thing you need” Tina smiles loudly. Alice was right the dress was perfect for tonight’s dinner

“You’re right Al, its perfect” Alice smiles loudly. Her plan had worked. Bette was going to die of a stunningly gorgeous Tina overload. After a few hours of getting ready and having a chat with Alice, Tina was ready to go.

“Thanks for tonight Al, I owe you one” Alice shakes her head and smiles
