Je t’aime (part 2 of 3)
Je t’aime – Part 2.
Bette sat twiddling her thumbs in the airport, mentally going over the time difference one more time, as each minute that went by the delay due to snow seemed to get longer, longer and longer …
The night before they talked about meeting, agreeing to at the hotel, Tina wanting to come to the airport but Bette worried as always that if they left it too late they might not get the kind of room she wanted, not on Valentines weekend,
“Try and get one overlooking the Seine,” Bette suggested, trying her best not to dictate to Tina what she should do,
Hopped up on mojito’s and the thought of seeing Bette, Tina merely rolled her eyes and replied, “Yes Bette, I remember,”
Years before, prior to Angie and fights and Bette even starting her job at the CAC they’d spent a fortnight in Paris touring the various galleries and collections. Tina remembered it fondly, even if she had bailed out on the art about four days in, preferring instead to go shopping and sun herself with walks along the bank of the Seine.
And every time Bette looked back on that trip it filled her with the same warm, fuzzy feeling it had way back then, the thought of repeating it again years later and trying to capture that same magic they’d had all those years before just made her go weak and buckle at the knees.
“Bette … Bette?”
Bette awoke, her daydream interrupted right when Tina’s soft voice was about to ask her something, she checked her watch and then the board which still read ‘Paris CDG – Delayed’
Tina would probably already be on her way. They parted ways the previous night like excitable teenagers, each one refusing steadfastly to hang up first and Tina finished by swearing she’d get up early the next morning and make her way back to Paris as quick as she could, whatever the state of her hangover,
Bette smiled to herself as she thought about it, her lips would taste like rum and lime, she’d be giggly and cute, her eyes big like saucers and her cheeks flushed with heat and alcohol.

This is beyond good. This is distinctive – like Lawrence, or…?
They have to work to be together. This can go on for a long time but sooner or later the world will find out what we know already, there is no other love like Tibette love.
Thanks for that lovely update. Let’s just hope the ‘too perfect’ comment isn’t prophetic!
Incroyable!! You struck the right tone of their relationship and love. Not taking each other for granted but totally appreciative of what they have in each other. And not willing to lose it again. Just wonderful!! PPS.
This was so beautiful…I really loved your last paragraph, I could actually feel what Tina was thinking!
AMAZING……..just amazing
Formidable! Your writing soars in this chapter.
Awwww once again, you bring out a tender, gentle, and amazing feeling between the two of these women. Connections like these are intense and beautiful. Bring on Part 3!!!
Babe, I think I love your conclusion most of all. Though there are so many parts of the story that I could point to as being just so lovely…your descriptions of those daily daily experiences, that human experience of being so in every moment (which is something I admire in you as a person and as a writer)…the way you weave the characters together through power imbalances and miscommunication to come to a place of harmony (which lets face it, is a natural place for us to live as much as it is ideal)…your ending really gets me, how when it comes to Bette, Tina’s sadness can live alongside being elated. Lovely work baby, and I promise always to inspire as much blushing as possible in you…not for its own sake, and not only because you’re so cute while blushing, but because you deserve every blush-worthy word and compliment I can give you;) xo
“They weren’t that innocent loved up couple whose hands never parted, whose fingers and mouths kissed and touched long on into the night. Instead they were a family, and for Tina that was bigger, grander, and more touching than any stereotypical bunch of flowers.
I love Bette and Tina! This true reconnection of their soulds is beautiful. And whoo-ee the lovin’ that was SEXY!
beautiful I could see it all. Waiting patiently for the final.
I am in awe of your writing. You have really captured the tender mood of any reunion and laced it with sensuality. I will always ask for more;-)
Marvelous, this is how things should be..Thanks
You have made their love even more beautiful..I can’t wait for the next chapter. pps
I’m breathless. That story was absolutely exquisite. I felt as though I was watching the two find what had been lost while exploring all that was new between and within them. Sofa, this is one of your best ever. So many wonderful parts — Bette falling asleep after her flight in Tina’s arms, the shared shower, Tina buying a new suit for Bette, Tina telling Bette she loved her in French… So much beauty and romance. Ahh…C’est Magnifique!
Amazing reconnection!! :)
I second what lovelyangel said!!
Body and soul love. Not many people can find this thanks
Awesome! Loved it!
