Just The Girl 2.0 – Chapter Twenty (based loosely on HYD: Returns)

CHAPTER TWENTY: Honesty in the Skies

    Previously..

    “So Bette..”

    “Yes, Shane?”

“Am I right? About the foot in mouth thing?”

    “No.”

    “Damn.”

“I’ll be sticking my foot in her ass, though.”

    “Seriously?”

    Evil smirk. “Watch me.”

    ————–

    Present..

“Don’t.” A firm grip on her arm impeded Bette’s misguided progress to trouble and mayhem; or in plain speak, stopped her from introducing her foot into Kate’s anal cavity. The hold was equally stern and calming, effectively clearing the heiress’s clouded judgment and driving out the murderous red veil that had washed over her vision. Anger often made people black out and see dots, but for her, it was a combination of black and bloody red. Heeding the cautionary voices in her head for a change, Bette allowed herself to be pulled back a step before twisting her neck to look at the owner of the restraining hand.

Sam was there, her face deathly serious and her brown eyes hard. “Don’t.” She repeated, shaking her head in warning. Slowly, she moved her eyes to the side – inviting Bette and her two other friends to look towards their right. They did – and what they saw there was enough to douse the remaining thoughts of aggression that had been running amok inside Bette’s head – at least for the meantime.

An obliviously and deliriously happy Dana was standing beside Helena and Jenny, having the time of her life at one of the game booths, unsuccessful in her attempt to win a prize yet euphoric all the same. Sam was with them a minute ago, but after accidentally chancing upon the tension brewing nearby and having enough foresight to anticipate what would happen next, she hurried over to her friends – and right on time to stop the carnage from happening too. “B, c’mon, this is Dana’s night, don’t ruin it.” Sam told her bestfriend in a hushed voice, her tone both grim and pleading. This was a birthday to remember for their friend – for reasons that were pleasant – and she’d very much like it to remain that way. “And you two,” She looked at Shane and Alice, her brow raised in disapproval.

    1. Always such a pleasure to read dear friend! and finally we have our light at the end of the tunnel! Delightfully funny and have to say I really enjoyed Kate being squished by Bette-THANK YOU!! Wow you really made her quite the annoying character…and the return of the splendid “..”..gave me big smiles. Have so missed the banter with B&T, this mix of being touching, humorous & flirty!! Thank you for the reprieve, I imagine you’re not quite done with the drama-right?I’m constantly amazed at the human resilence in face of disaster…I send out my good thoughts & positve energy for those struggling & surviving. Stay strong.

    2. Keep it strong girl and I think that is good that the people there didn’t gave up and humor the situation. They are fighters and that’ s good. We all send our love and prey for things to be better soon. I love that story so much. You have no idea. I think that my baby gonna flip if she hear another theory of mine about the end of this story ;). Thank you for posting. Kisses

    3. best wishes to you & yours in this tough time, alchemy – thank you for managing to gift us w/ such humor & brilliance thru it all. im so enamored of both your immortal weed tina & her bette – & its so gratifying to see bette finally understanding >what< it is she's apologizing for. she taking that final step into maturity, learning that a relationship built to last means treating your partner as an equal. she took the hard way to get there & her apology reflected the hard won insight. now please get rid of jill immediately, haha! she had one or two okay moments but she way overstayed her welcome & i dont trust her. tina swapping for the panda was so sweet and their talk was very needed. thanks so much alchemy & stay safe - post again when you can

    4. Loved it! Still can’t place the scene from HYD-R. Oh well, I love your version better. Thanks so much for the post. Looking forward to the next and the make up sex. I have a feeling that it will at least a week before they come up from under the sheets.

    5. Alchemy glad to hear that you are doing okay. Understand losing one’s home to a major storm. Finally, Bette and Tina are on the same page, maybe one at the top and the other on the bottom but still on the same page.

    6. Hi alchemy! Glad to provide you with some laughs with my id hehehe. Did I already tell you you’re just brilliant and am so proud you’re my kababayan bec you’re the best! Can this story not end???? And what you said was true abt pinoys, we’re resilient and we will rise above it and only the best will come out of this worst tragedy for some and most of all we always find some humor from the experience. Looking forward to your next post!

    7. HEY EVERYONE…if you are able to help…let’s show our thanks to Alchy for the great story telling by giving to the Red Cross. Even if it is $5, cumulatively it will all add up. If you can give more, then more gratitude to you and a great way to help families who have lost everything. I’m going to do my share – a show of gratitude to Alchy for her wonderful story – JTG + 2.0. You are a great community that encourages so many good writers – we now have a chance to show our support that will make someone’s life better! Thank you for your kind words Alchy…and of course the great romance slowly rekindled (hah…take that midget…the set up of tension to each competetive game was great! Well written!!!!

    8. Cant help but be delighted, been waiting for them to finally seal their issues, and yeah, cant wait for the next chapter too. And I must say, got my wish :) the midget got hurt. Thanks Alchemy.

    9. That was awesome and funny, glad they talk and work thing out, they are sweet and cute, love them. Good to see you are ok and hope everything is good with you my friend, see you when you post, thanks for a wonderful update!

    10. Alchy fellow pinay, kababayan! I’m glad you are safe a midst all of this tragedy. I’ve been attending several events to help raise money for the Philippines. The Filipino community in San Francisco is doing as much as we can for our people back home! I love your story as you know. Keep writing and keep being magic.

    11. I’ve been MIA but have been also catching up on “Just the Girl” the whole story! That was quite a bit of reading and I loved every minute of it. You know I started kinda later read a Just the Girl 2 chapter and got hooked. I just had to go back to the beginning to fill in the blanks. :) I love the way you write. I love your humor. And I didn’t think that the last chapter ‘bathroom in the car’ was that gross. It was crazy funny. One of the things I love is how we can read blank stares and non responses in your writing. VERY FUNNY. Keep up the great work. I for one am really enjoying it. Thanks

    12. Alch…as usual a masterfully written chapter. No One writes humour quite the way you do. I’m so glad that the storm and the earthquake didn’t do too much more damage….you have all suffered enough. I agree, donations however small will add up to being a big help. Thanks for posting again even with all you have going on there…we do appreciate it!
