Just The Girl – Chapter Four (a HYD-inspired fic)
—————————–
I made it! Tina inwardly smiled as she dragged herself to the gate of the school compound. Her body was bruised and she was aching all over. The "innocent" little volleyball game was hardly innocent nor fun. Firstly, all the good spikers in her class were in the opposing team. Secondly, they all seemed to have a knack for spiking the ball hard in the direction of Tina’s face or body. And finally, Tina was the only one who wasn’t allowed to take break.. no substitutions for a certain Christina Kennard. The game dragged on for an hour and a half.. and Tina surprised herself by still having the strength to stand after. Sure, her nose was bleeding and her feet hurt like hell.. but somehow the fact that she made it through the whole ordeal made it worth all the pain. "Good job Kennard." She smiled as she patted herself on the back. No one has ever made it through a whole day of being red tagged. I guess that makes me the winner in this round, she grinned as she did a small triumphant jump. Ouch! She grabbed her throbbing side. "Take it easy." She whispered to herself softly as she rubbed her aching muscles.
Just as she was about to step out into the street, a sight made her stop dead on her tracks. There, with her car parked illegally on the sidewalk was the devil herself. Bette Porter was leaning against her bright red 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO with her arms crossed upon her chest. Her eyes were hidden behind dark expensive looking sunglasses but Tina could see the arrogant smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
Bette tilted her head to the side as she studied the blonde in front of her. "Looking good." She laughed a little.
"Can’t say the same about you." Tina rolled her eyes. As difficult as it was for her, she straightened her body up. She wasn’t going to allow herself to appear weak in front of Bette Porter.. she wouldn’t give her the satisfaction.
"Feisty as ever I see." Bette grinned as she saw Tina struggling to hold her tired self together. "Give up the tough act Kennard." Bette nodded towards Tina.
"What?" Tina glared at her tormentor.
Bette chuckled. "Throw in the towel. Beg for my forgiveness and I might just ease up on you." Bette said as she pushed herself from her car and walked the few steps towards Tina. She stopped a few inches in front of the blonde and slowly leaned forward, whispering to her ear. "Accept the inevitable Tina. You know you want to." Bette grinned as she pulled back.
Tina laughed. "Remember what I told you yesterday Porter?" She said as she stroked Bette’s cheek.
Bette’s eyes widened in shock as felt Tina touch her skin, luckily for her, her sunglasses gave good cover. "Which one? You said a lot." She attempted to smile unaffectedly as she whispered back.
"The part about driving you to your knees.." Tina’s hands now traveled down to Bette’s neck before finally resting on her shoulders.
"Yeah.. what about it?" Bette whispered.
Tina leaned forward and placed her lips near Bette’s ear. "I intend to make good with that promise." She whispered as she suddenly pushed Bette’s shoulders down and lifted her knee up to meet Bette’s stomach in one fluid move.
"Mother fu–!!" Bette groaned as she fell down on her knees, her hands gripping her stomach. Tina smiled triumphantly as she stepped back and walked away from the brunette. "Oh.. and I won’t quit, Porter." Tina said over her shoulder.
Bette watched as Tina limped away, an unreadable expression plastered on her face. Did she finally meet her match? Bette lifted herself from the ground and leaned back against her car. "You’re a challenge, Kennard." She fished out her car keys from inside her pocket and unlocked the car. "And I won’t quit you too." She said as she entered the driver’s seat.

So my heart is broken that after Tina protected her Dana turned into a coward who didn’t stand by her friend. However, I am glad to see Tina refuse to break in front of egomaniac Bette. Hopefully too much damage won’t occur between the two.
Well after 7 months of silent reading, I finally feel compelled to comment! This story is awesome, can’t wait to read more!
i have to agree lauraMP, ive only commented once before and i’ve read this fiction for a couple of years but i’m loving this!! It’s hard to hate bette even when she’s as nasty as this – love the sparring between the two though…keep it coming!!

I love this feisty Tina! She literally drove Bette down to her knees!
