“No.” Tina shook her head and stood her ground. She smiled at the confused look that Bette shot her way. “I don’t want to go home just yet..” She explained as Bette began to walk back a little bit closer.

“Where do you want to go?” Bette asked as she tilted her head to the side. She felt a little relieved that their time together would be prolonged even for just a little while.

“Somewhere to eat.” Tina answered with a knowing smile. “I know you’re hungry..” She raised an eyebrow as she pointed at Bette’s tummy.

“Really now? And how do you know that?” Bette narrowed her eyes. In truth, her stomach was already starting to protest in hunger ever since they’ve stepped out of the Planet a few minutes ago.

“Cause I can see the hunger in your eyes.. and I can hear your tummy rumbling..” Tina mimicked a certain brunette’s words from a few days before.

“I think those lines sound familiar..” Bette laughed as she gently began to lead Tina towards the direction of the parking lot a few blocks away.

“What?”

“I get to pay for our dinner, okay?”

“Suit yourself Porter.”

“Good.”

“Where do you want to eat?”

“Well.. I know this restaurant in Santa Monica that serve great food and amazing coffee.. at relatively cheap prices..”

“Really now? That sounds vaguely familiar. Can it be found inside a condemned building with a broken elevator?”

“I believe so..”

“Then let’s go..”

“Great. Here..”

“What do I do with this?”

“Call your dad. You might be coming home late..”

“Haha.. yeah right Porter. Kidding aside, where are we really going?”

“You know what? Anywhere’s fine with me. Just name a restaurant.”

“Taco Bell.”

“…”

“What? You said anywhere..”

“Tch. Fine.”

“Wait.. I just changed my mind. Let’s go to McDonalds instead.”

“…”

“What?”

“I’m never going to let you choose where we eat ever again..”

A lone figure dressed impeccably in a gray tailored suit stepped out of a black Mercedes and walked briskly towards the entrance of the building. Heads nodded their way towards her and small greetings were given as she passed by the multitude of employees milling about on the ground floor. She smiled briefly at each one before disappearing into one of the main elevators. She let out a breath as she found herself alone inside the shaft. She fished out a gold key card from inside her breast pocket and swiped it on the scanner on the control panel. A soft chime was heard followed by a small ‘whoosh’ sound as a small compartment opened and revealed a finger scanner. She placed four fingers on the screen and waited a few seconds for the red light to turn green. Once it did, she saw her face and credentials flash on the small screen and immediately felt the elevator taking her to the top-most floor of the tower. As soon as she stepped out, she was greeted by five huge security men in matching black suits and bluetooth ear pieces. She stood still and lifted her arms to the side as one man scanned her for any sharp instruments or weapons. Seeing none, he nodded his head and grunted, giving her the go-signal to enter the waiting room. Once inside, she smiled at the head receptionist, who then immediately buzzed her in to her boss.
