    Hey Jenny. I’m sorry I’ve kept you guys waiting. I had to finish a dress for this crazy rich bitch who’s got some boring ass butt kissing event to go to tomorrow.

    JENNY

    It’s cool. We just ordered drinks.

    LAYLA

    I could use one or ten of those.

    CARMEN

    I was just telling Jenny a little bit about your work.

    LAYLA

    This time of year, lots of clients come in for wedding dresses and I’m also sort of contracted to this band.

    CARMEN

    This band? You’re making clothes for Beth Ditto and The Gossip.

    JENNY

    Wow, I love The Gossip. Beth Ditto is a whole lotta woman.

    CARMEN

    Yeah, she’s fantastic. I got a chance to work with them on a couple of their gigs.

    JENNY

    Yeah, I’d love to meet her sometime.

    LAYLA

    Definitely. We have a photo shoot coming up in a couple of days if you want to come by.

    JENNY

    Okay.

    LAYLA

    Just give me your number before we leave and I’ll call you and give you all the details.

    JENNY

    Sounds great.

    KIT

    He’s doing really well. He’s a doctor.

    QUINCY

    That’s wonderful. He was such a bright kid from what I remember.

    He’s a good boy and I’m very proud of him.

    QUINCY

    I bet. He’s lucky to have you as his mother.

    KIT

    I don’t know. Sometimes I feel like I’m the lucky one that he turned out so well after everything that he’s been through. He reminds me a lot of my father, which is interesting.

    QUINCY

    I heard about Melvin and I just wanted to tell you that I’m sorry I didn’t get in touch or come to the funeral.

    KIT

    It’s alright. He probably would’ve jumped out of the casket and strangled you anyway.

    QUINCY

    That’s true.

    KIT

    Quincy, I have to ask you. Of all the places in the world, you end up here?
