“…And when I went back,she was nowhere to be seen”
“And you haven’t talked to her since then?”
“Nope. I’ve been calling her but she’s not answering”
“Sounds like you really fucked up big time, Chris”
“I know Jackie, I mean I know it was stupid to ask her that, but she didn’t give me any chance to apologize”
“And now what?”
“I’ll call her in a few minutes”
“Chris?”
“Yes?”
“Can I say something but you won’t get mad?”
“Sure, go ahead”
“Sounds like you really fell hard for her. I mean, Chris, I know you since forever and I have never seen you like this, let alone for a woman”
“(sighing)I don’t know Jackie…It was… different. She made me feel as if I was the only one on Earth, you know? So attentive, caring. And, I should give it a try, at least, don’t you think?”
“So, you made up your mind?”
“I think so. I’scared as hell, though”
“Why?”
“Look how Eric reacted. Imagine what my brothers will think, let alone what mom and dad will say when I tell them I’m dating a woman”
“Well, first of all, Eric is an asshole whose ego is much bigger than his brain, ok? Second, you can worry about that when it happens. Third, you told me and I support you”
“And I appreciate it, really”
“Any time, sweetie. Oh my! Look at the time, I have to get going. We’ll talk more about this, ok?”
“Ok, I’ll see you soon, right?”
“You’re damn right about that! I’m dying to meet this Porter lady!”
“(chuckling)Bye, Jackie. Thanks for everything, take care”
“I will, bye”
Tina pressed the ‘end’ button and sighed. She felt much better after talking to Jackie about the current ‘situation’. Jackie and her had been friends since forever, back in home, school, college. And if there was someone she could trust totally, it was her. A few minutes later, she called Bette’s house.
Meanwhile…
Bette saw her answering machine blinking. A broad smile came to her face. She pressed the button as she dropped her stuff all over the place

I hope to god that is Kit’s hand on Bette’s shoulder. Ooooooooo boy if it is she’s gonna lay into her baby sis! And this cracked me up: “Sure” She went to the kitchen “What is it? Oh my! I see yo really are into take-out” She said when she saw the largest collection of menus she had seen. LMAO That’s gonna be me in about 10 years because I can’t cook to save my life. lol
I hope it’s not Tina’s hand, it’s to soon for Tina to find out about the bet. Ending things before they even start. post soon.
