There was a 10 year age difference between Alice and her eldest sister. They were all happily married with children of their own with the exception of Alice. Unlike the rest of her sisters Lenore wasn’t as quick to marry her off. She was fragile and feared choosing a mate could be detrimental if they were ever to take advantage of her. She was delicate in every sense of the word and she wanted someone for her daughter who could love, honor her innocence, and embrace her quirkiness. Everything couldn’t have been more perfect and after years of searching Lenore believed she had finally found the perfect wife for Alice, however the celebration was short lived.

One day while enjoying a nice quiet walk outside the castle walls Alice along with a soldier from the royal guard Gaia was startled by the frightening noise of rapid gun fire, explosions, followed by the quaking sounds of loud blast. Gaia, seeing the chaos unfold before her main concern now was protecting Alice. All too familiar with her surroundings Gaia leads Alice down a nearby mountain path until she reaches a secret cave where she ask her to wait until she came back for her. Alice waited alone in the cave for two days; inside the cave she could feel the ground underneath her. She could still hear the gun fire, blast, and the innocent cries of fear. Although she was scared and frightened her curiosity got the best of her and she slowly made her way out of the cave to the nearest mountain side and looks in horror. Her home was being attacked and engulfed in flames. There were thousands upon thousands of soldiers in every direction surrounding her home. Villages were being burned and defenseless citizens were fighting for their survival. The screams and cries that carried with the wind were deafening.  Fearing she may be seen she climbed down the mountain returning back to the cave. Her body shock in response to the cold air swarming her body she cried with worry about her family. With everything going on around her she fell asleep. The following morning she awoke to complete silence.

Leaving the protection of the cave again she climbs back up the mountain any hope she had clinged to immediately vanished as she sees a new flag swaying back and forth in place of her families banner. The soldiers she saw celebrating their victory were not the royal army but invaders who had managed to capture and over throw Lesbiannicus. A layer off black smoke still lingered over the open pasture barely covering the bodies of the deceased slaughtered risking their lives protecting their beloved city. Her heart was consumed with pain and grief. No matter how hard she tried to wrap her head around what was happening she couldn’t make since of it all. Her mother had no known enemies the unforeseen invasion was catastrophic. Immediate thoughts of her family filled her mind. Kneeling on the cold grass staring at the nightmare before her she was so preoccupied with her thoughts she didn’t hear the presence approaching her until she felt a hand rest on her shoulder.
