LET IT BE – Chapter 4
Bette got out of her Saab, grabbed the bottle of expensive wine and bunch of flowers from the passenger seat and picked her briefcase up before locking the car and heading into the house. It was 5:30 and she was home unexpectedly to spend some alone time with Tina. Since the events of two nights ago Bette had become aware that more and more she wanted to abandon everything and be alone with the blonde who had given her so much love and put up with some much shit.
The house was empty when Bette went inside – as always every room was immaculate and so reflected both their personalities – modern art on the walls spoke to Bette’s career and obsession while photographs of them and their friends scattered around reflected Tina’s more homely nature. The classic movie posters were a testimony to Tina’s job and one of Bette’s other great passions in life.
Bette put her stuff down and went through to the kitchen – Tina had been cooking – smells
mixed together and still lingered – Bette inhaled – muffins – definitely chocolate muffins and maybe a lasagne for supper. If Tina was baking was it a clue that she was pregnant and this was some nesting move? Bette dismissed the idea. It would be a while yet before Tina missed a period and she could take a pregnancy test. For now Bette was focused on them surviving what they had done. Not only surviving but finding a way of bringing them closer –giving their marriage new momentum.
Bette went into their room and started undressing – it was a warm day and she had felt grubby for most of the afternoon. A feeling made worse by a creepy carpenter called Candice who had come round touting for business. Bette had spoken to her only out of curtsey to another gallery owner to whom she owed a favour. But Candice hadn’t impressed Bette – she smoked for one and that was one of the brunette’s pet hates – and she didn’t know much about hanging valuable pieces of art work – no Bette wouldn’t be letting Candace anywhere near her next exhibition.

WTH Bette? That was completely uncalled for, totally unnecessary to humiliate Tim like that. Tim’s not a surrogate for Pete, he’s not done anything wrong. Her and Tina need to talk, *really* talk about this whole thing. Soon. Bette went from feeling hurt and rejected in Foxworthy’s office and later in Kit’s apartment, to “let’s make a baby” in the blink of an eye, a *huge* decision, and nothing got resolved in between. Shagging away the unresolved feelings doesn’t seem to be working, and the double vodka’s aren’t helping either. Lots for the two of them to think about, I want to see how they try to work this all out. Right, thanks for the chapter, ally, more when you can. Cheers
Seems the repercussions from their menage a trois just continue. Is poor Timmy going to slug Bette? Is Tina regretting not staying home? Is Bette going to be able to burn the memory away with vodka?
Damn, Bette. Yeah, that was cruel to humiliate Tim just because Jenny is a complete bitch. Tim was always a really good guy. Drunken jealousy isn’t a good thing.

That was GOOD! Take that Miss Shecter, at this time of the show I was able to watch you without wanting to kill you. Too bad I had glimpses of season 4! And now Tim won’t say Bette didn’t warn him! But I’m not sure that Tina’s gonna like it. God Bette is way to sexy in her drunken alpha mode!
Just for good measure I admit that Tim didn’t deserve that. Make them talk. But don’t turn the conversation into a breaking up one…
She is so going to regret that when she sobers up and Tina is going to be pissed at her, Bette needs to watch that temper.

Gee Bette’s temper is really bad and Tina is really gonna be upset with her and it was so uncalled for. Our girls really need to talk about ol’ Pete. Bette really needs to get past this after all it was her idea. Great chapter by the way. PPS
This story and style is so different than your other ones. But I like it. It seems more “Americanized” than your other stories. Maybe b/c you don’t use English colloquisms as you do sometimes in your other tales.

Although Bette is trying to compensate things by spending more time and giving closer attention to Tina, they haven’t really talked and figure out how they should approach the outcome of how the Pete’s experience could affect their relationship. As for things getting out of control at the Planet, we believe Bette’s jealousy has snicked its ugly head out with Jenny. Vodka is making Bette speak carelessly because she can’t admit openly what’s bothering her inside and on top of that, since she’s freaked out about her inner fears, she prefers to retalliate versus Tim, by spilling the beans about Jenny & Marina’s fling. Tim was just punched in the gut by Bette! He didn’t deserve that although Jenny sure did. I say Bette & Tim make up and have a slapfest with Jenny!

well i’m in the minority thinking that what Bette did wasn’t all that bad. Now..bare with me…Jenny was trying to hit on Tina…that much was established because Shane saw it as well and was making a bee line for Jenny to stop her. Tina knew that Bette was still trying to “make up” for the threesome, becasue she even thinks that she knows why Bette is being more physical with her. Now according to this fic…Bette’s temper is legendary AND that NO ONE touches Tina…I’m thinking you’re asking for trouble when you say Hey let’s out and You Bette..that hasn’t worked out any of these issues yet…drink shit loads so then one small move will make you snap. Now i don’t think deserved Bette’s comment, BUT my guess…she sees Tina in Jenny and herself as Tim…cluess as to what Tina wants and if she would secretly make her way back to men like Jenny is secretly making her way to the lesbians…Just a side note…isn’t it funny how when you’re happy go lucky and all smiles people thinking your the funniest…the same stuff (alcohol) that gets you this cute, funny, hilirious, whatever it the exact same things that make you switch at a drop of a hat. Take me for example I drink tequila all night…I will be mean…AND…i have less tolerance for people…I drink Red bull and vodas…i’m bouncing off the walls…So…yeah..go Bette kick ass…Will Tina be upset…Yes. BUT…after 7 years it’s a safe bet (no pun intended) that she should have seen this coming. My friends know what i shouldn’t be drinking…and they don’t fuck me…so ..I would hope Tina would the same thing about Bette. Oh well they definately need to talk. Great job Ally!!
A drunken Bette is not too careful with her mouth calling out Jenny like that. The stuff at the beginning and the middle was hot. They really need to talk.

Ouch! Bette go easy on Tim. Damn this is harsh. I was totally feeling bad for Bette b/c she’s still struggling w/ the fact that she let her wife be screwed by a man but does she have to be so mean to Tim. Maybe it’s the aclohol talking. I wonder if Bette could ahndle Tina sleeping w/a guy better if she wasn’t actually in the room to see it. But on second thought that would probably be even harder for her to handle b/c she would constantly be visualizing how this man touched Tina and whether or not she enjoyed. I can’t wait for your next post. Not really that interested in the Jenny/Marina nonsense excpet for how it directly relates to Bette and Tina. PPS! And i hope Tina isn’t too upset at Bette flipping out.
Hey Ally, Thank you for showing how wonderful Bette and Tina can be together. Recent events have showed Bette the error of her ways and Tina is there as a constant supporting and comforting her wife. Loved the double muffin attack. Having Bette pleasure her wife is a very critical step in rebuilding their relationship and moving forward from the threesome. Bette checking Pete out was purely Alpha-Bette taking charge. It is so amazing to see Tina’s complete understanding of her lover. The night out started well with Bette and Tina catching up with their friends. Bette’s drunken revelation about Marina and Jenny was mean spirited and only sevred to embarrass Tim. Once again, Bette’s lofty principles put her in the firing line. Can’t wait to see how this all plays out now. Good thing is the truth is out in the open and now Tim is not being deceived or duped by his girlfriend. I have a feeling that fists may be flying soon.
