Chapter 66 – Bette and Dana have a little Zoo time

The next day at the Planet, Bette was waiting with Tina watching for Dana and Alice to make their appearance. Bette was quietly talking to Tina as Dana and Alice walked into the Planet. From appearances it looked like the two hardly knew each other as they couldnt have been giving each other a colder shoulder. Frigid might be a good word to describe the climate between Alice and Dana. Alice looked so relieved to see Tina and Bette already seated at the table that she almost ran to them.
Hey you two, dont you look all quiet and lovey dovey. Alice said as way of greeting.

Good morning to you too. Tina greeted Alice back. Go get you coffee, can you sit for a minute or are you in a hurry?

Just for a moment I need to buzz, got three big wigs waiting for me at the magazine and they get testy if Im too too late. Alice says as she drops her purse on the table and heads to the counter.

Dana had headed to the counter first and was now returning with her coffee in hand. Hey guys, youre looking good this morning. Dana offered.

Dana good to see you, I cant thank you enough for helping me out today. You know Im teaching these kids at Tinas houses and well I really need your input to get this zoo thing right. Bette greets Dana.

Tina trying to keep the smirk off her face: Yeah Dana, thanks for helping Bette out. She tried to explain it to me but you know some things I am just at a loss to understand. I just know this will be more your thing. Thanks.

Huh, sure .. I think. Im still not really sure what Im doing but if its for the kids Im glad to help. Dana says but she is saying it to her coffee and only glancing up at Tina and Bette.

Just then Alice returned with her coffee and the four of them sat there in silence. Finally Tina looked at Bette: Well Babe, I think I need to get going.
