Let It Happen – Chapter VI

“Gosh, I haven’t woken up this late since…. I don’t even remember,” she sighed.

“And I am aching in places I didn’t even know existed in my body,” she laughed.

She pushed herself up to sit on her heels.  She looked around, and bit her lip upon seeing everything strewn around the floor.  For some reason, though, her travel jacket was sitting on the edge of the bed near her, neatly folded.

That’s strange, Tina thought. Why would that be on the bed?

    “Bette?  Bette?,” she called out.

She heard another set of chimes.  This time, they were the door chimes of the doors outside, that led into their suite.

“Give me a minute!,” she called out, as she rolled off her heels, and stepped out of the bed.  She padded to the bathroom, to grab one of the plush robes.

“Mmmm,” she said, as she wrapped the pillow soft robe around her.

She was tying it securely around her as she opened the door to the main bedroom, and looked around for signs of Bette as she crossed the living area, then on towards the main doors of the suite.

She checked through the eyehole of the door, then  pulled it open.

    “Bonjour,” the  valet greeted her.

“Bonjour,” Tina answered, smiling at him.

“May I?,” he asked, gesturing to the trolley beside him.

“Yes, yes of course. Thanks,” Tina said, as she stepped aside to let him in.

“After you, mademoiselle,” he said, as Tina waited.

“Oh… oh, okay,” Tina laughed, as she accepted the newspaper that he handed to her.

She walked ahead of him to the table near the terrace, and sat.

He quickly set the table, and prepared the food.

“I understand from the cafe’ that you like a cappuccino in the morning?,” he asked politely, as he lifted a small dome that was covering the cup.  He set the cup before her, along with a slender piece of chocolate, resting it on the edge of the saucer.

“Why, yes, yes I do, thanks!,” Tina said, taken aback, again, by the thoughtful service of the landmark hotel.

He arranged a bread basket, and a tray of jams, butter, and a cheese plate next to it.  Lastly, he placed a bowl of fruit next to Tina.
