Lies My Parents Told Me 3

    Lies My Parents Told Me

Bette and Tinas marriage disintegrates in front of their fifteen year old daughter. I dont know how far I will take this story.

My parents are polar opposites and sometimes I wonder how they ever got together in the first place. With my birth mother there isnt a doubt that we have a mother/daughter relationship. With my other mother its completely different its almost more mentor/student relationship when compared to my relationship with my birth mother. I woke up Sunday morning to the sound of my mother knocking on my bedroom door.

    Come in, I groaned.

Its a beautiful day and youre here in bed, Tina said.

My eyes were still closed as I spoke.

What time is it? I yawned.

    Its almost noon. Tina replied.

I slowly opened my eyes. I watched as my mother walked over to my bedroom and pulled back the curtains. Then she opened up the blinds and I squinted as my eyes adjusted to the light. My mom got into my bed and laid down next to me.

How was the bonfire last night? Tina asked.

The way my mother asked me I didnt feel like I was being interrogated. I could tell she was actually interested.

I didnt stay to long, I replied.

Why didnt you stay long? Tina asked.

In any social situation Mark found himself in some trouble and I had to bail him out. I replied.

Did you get to talk to your friend? Tina grinned.

    Mom, I laughed.

Shed be lucky to have you interested in her. Tina said.

Thats such a mom thing to say. I replied.

Well I am mother. Tina said.

We didnt even really get a chance to talk. I replied.

When I first met your mother she and I didnt have an ideal first meeting, Tina said.

What do you mean? I asked.

At the time I was dating someone. We didnt get a chance to talk as much as I would have liked but we saw each other again and the rest is history. Tina said.

Im not going to get married to this girl or anything. I replied.

Of course not. Tina trailed off.

I looked over at my mother and she arched her eyebrow at me playfully and I started to laugh again.

    1. I’ve never read nay of your stories before and decided to check this chapter out. I like it; it’s very interesting. It actually reminds me of Romeo and Juliet except is Porter & Peabody. I’m sure things will get very interesting as you write more.
