    Life: Altered 03.21 ~*~ Alice/Quin

    Life:
    Altered 03.21 ~*~ Alice/Quin

    ~*~*~*~*~*

    Friday

Alice sat in the limo, still trying to figure
out how Quin had arranged all of this, but she gave up.  There were just too many mysteries to the
woman to start unraveling them all without having a story to back up a fact or
two.  She sat back, listening to the
Sirius radio that was playing heavy rock music at a dull level.

They pulled into the private airstrip
    and Alice
was even more in awe at this new
development.  How had Quin, a seemingly
down and out guitar player, picture developer, managed all of this?  More questions piled up and very little
    answers were forthcoming.

“Have a wonderful trip ma’am.”  The driver said and Alice stepped out of the limo, to find a small
jet waiting for her.  She swallowed,
scratching at the mass of blonde hair and now in total wonder at all of this.  She put the bag with the dress over her
shoulder, walking slowly to the plane.

“Oh *****.”  She said, a man escorting her to the plane,
even going as far as helping her up the first step with an extended hand.  Alice
gave him an odd look, pursing her lips
and blurting out, sounding very much like her mother when she said…

“I got feet.”  Alice said, and she sat down in the plush
seat; looking for Quin, but she wasn’t here.
*****, what was going on?  Why was
she alone on this plane with a guy she most certainly didn’t know?  Was this some sort of insane set up?  No, I couldn’t be, could it?

“We’ll be taking off in a few
minutes, kindly buckle up.”  The man
    said, and
    Alice
was about to ask him where Quin was, but
he was gone.  She snorted and pushed the
belt into the buckle, making a face.

                “***** Houdini.”
    Alice
grunted, the plane began to taxi out
onto the runway, and in minutes they were in flight, the seat belt light turned
    off and
    Alice
unclipped the belt, and the man
reappeared.  She cast him a look,
wondering what sort of magician this guy was.

“Do you have to do that?”  Alice asked and he was blank faced, not
    understanding what
    Alice
was talking about.  He said in a stiff voice, matching his stiff
    personality.

“If you’ll find your way to
the pilot’s cockpit…”  He began and Alice
‘s eyebrows shot up and wiggled, but the
man was having none of her joking around.
