Life: Altered 03.61 ~*~ Take It Back

            Both couples were sitting across the
room from each other, Daisy and Ro having gone over to help rouse the fainting Alice. 
Then Quin had sent them over to a table in the corner, where they could
talk and be alone.  Quin didn’t remember
much, but she did remember the important things, Alice, Daisy and the fact that she was a
raging *****. 

            The fact that she’d slept with a man
was lingering on her mind.  Then she
figured she’d chalk it up to not knowing any better, and an experience of a
lifetime.  Hopefully the only one of its
kind.

            Alice was sitting directly across from Quin
they held hands easily.  Alice ran her fingers over Quin’s, the cast
seeming out of place now that Quin had gotten her memory back.  Alice stared at her emerald green eyes, and
Quin kept pulling them away from her.  It
was hard to stare into her eyes, because it brought back memory after
memory. 

            They softly rocked at her, small
flashes of them playing on stage together, eating, a moment in the rain that
seemed to truly be a turning point in their relationship.  Alice following her to work singing her
songs.  None of them were in any order,
they were just there for her to review like a DVD packed with extras.

            “How did you make the
connection?”  Alice asked in a childlike voice and Quin bit
her lip.  Still unsure how it had come to
her, but knowing that it had.  She took
her time, piecing together the odd fragmented memories that had led her to the
conclusion.  One that she’d more than
likely been led to before having lost her memory.

            “The portrait in the….”  Quin began in a slow measured voice.

            “No. 
He had long hair…”  Alice said softly, looking over at Ro and
Daisy.  God
Daisy looked like her right now; she saw the resemblance, even the
nervous mannerisms that the young woman was exhibiting.

            “It was done when he was 13 or
so.  Think.  So he wouldn’t have looked like he did when
you… slept with him.  They have the
same eyes.”  Alice‘s eyes darted around, digging in, deep
in thought.  Quin said nothing, just
watching as the wheels of her lovers mind spun and spun.

            “You play alike.”  Alice whispered, Quin nodded she was sure they
did, because he had been the one to teach her how to play after all.
