Chapter 27
A couple of days later, Tina is back home and Bette is staying with her for a few days.
“I’m gonna call mom and tell her when we’ll arrive.” Tina says while Bette went to get a shower.
“Sure. I’ll be in the bathroom.” Bette replies.
Tina takes up her cellphone and dials home.
“Kennard residence, Michael speaking.” Tina hears her brother say.
Tina chuckles.
“May I speak with the leader of the clan?” Tina replies.
“Hey sis, what’s up?” Michael asks.
“Nothing much, just calling to tell you guys when we’re coming down.” Tina says.
“Yeah? When?” Michael asks.
“Thursday. Only four days.” Tina replies.
“Great, Megan is looking forward to you get here.” Michael says.
“Yeah, we are too.” Tina replies. “So, is mom there?” Tina asks.
“Yeah, hang on.” Michael replies and calls out for their mom.
“Christina, how are you feeling?” Joanne asks as soon as she has the phone in her hands.
“Hey, mom, I’m fine. I’m just calling to tell you we’ll come down on Thursday.” Tina says.
“Winderful. I’ll have dinner ready when you arrive. Anything you want?” Joanne asks.
“Do you know how to make Chicken Wok? Or do you have a wok pan?” Tina asks.
“No, I don’t, but I can go and buy one tomorrow, and I’ll also buy a cookbook on the subject.” Joanne says.
“You don’t have to do that mom.” Tina says.
“I want to, besides, I love to cook and I love to explore new things in the area, so no more discussion about that.” Joanne says and smiles.
“Okay, thank you. Well, we’ll talk soon then.” Tina says and they hang up.
The next day, Bette drove Tina to school.
“Call me when you’re done, and I’ll come pick you up.” Bette says.
“Bette, you don’t have to do that okay? I’ll get Josh to drive me, he lives not far from my apartment. Stay at work today, I know you must be a little behind. Use the next couple of days to catch up with work before we have to go away for the holidays. I’ll be fine.” Tina says.
“Are you sure?, I don’t want to leave you alone.” Bette says.
“I’ll be fine. Besides, you’re only a phonecall away. And also, I have a lot of school work to finish too, so I’ll be busy as well.” Tina says.

Keep it going, Lauren!! Ok, what does Tina want? She said she needed some time to herself. Now, she’s worrying about Bette not returning her text messages. Maybe, Bette was giving her a little space…plus, Bette might have fallen asleep after eating! PPS.
Poor Bette torn between missing her son and wife and moving on with her new love. Holidays are rough times for those who’ve lost loved ones no matter how much joy there is with those that are still with them. Josh gave some pretty good advice. Hope Tina calls or checks in with Bette to reassure them both of their love.

Well bet tina didn’t know about bette stop to the cementary? poor bette the holidays have to be rough for her but this year she will be with tina!

I can understand Tina needing some space, but she shouldn’t shut Bette out. And now Bette is all sad and needs Tina. I’m looking forward to your next post.
