Helena shook her head. “No, I’m sorry. Really, your little speech about the arts, it was good, I mean you’re an inspiration in this area. I also was reacting against my own artistic drive, feeling it shriveling inside of me as I spent my time reviewing funding proposals and worrying about custody hearings. It’s taken me all this time to even think about creating anything again.”
Shane nodded knowingly. “yeah, I bet that was hard for you. I mean maybe you were distracting yourself then, and now that you have less to worry about, you can just rebuild.”
“For real this time,” Alice added. “I think it’s really common for people who try to start again in their lives, to have a few false starts.”
“You’re sweet.” Helena looked at Shane and Alice, wanting suddenly to pat them both on the head and then squeeze them together like two oversized stuffed toys—she restrained herself, thinking for the thousandth time that she must really be missing her children. “But, while I had my reasons, I was rude to Bette. I made her feel insecure…” She directed her attention back to Bette. “I preyed on your insecurity because of what I sensed happening in myself.” She closed her eyes and pressed her fingers to them before looking Bette squarely in the eye.
Bette smiled at her, returning her gaze with equal intensity. Shane, got up and wandered over to the take-out containers on the kitchen table to help herself to more food, and was followed closely by Alice. Neither woman knew exactly what was going on, but they knew a moment to leave two people alone when they saw one.
Bette and Helena just looked at one another, before Helena got onto her knees, moved over to Bette, and kissed briefly. “I am sorry.” She said sincerely.
Bette nodded, kissing her on the forehead before Helena moved back to her position on the floor, leaning on her elbows and stretching her feet before her. Now the trick would be to find a way to spend the night with Bette, without Alice and Shane knowing.
Shane and Alice had taken care of that detail for themselves, without meaning to. They decided after consulting with Bette and Helena—who feigned tiredness—that they would hit a few clubs tonite. Bette said that she would stay behind for a time, to help Helena clean up—which no one in the room fully bought, but still no one questioned her.

A thousand thanks for this cold-shower installment in your bewitching saga. Even if IC were planning to take the Belena train (and sadly she doesn’t appear so inclined), she would be hard pressed to top this delicious action.
Excellent as always. And yes they do need to talk, and hopfully listen as well.It also good to see that Helena has finally got a handle on what she searching for and I hope she gets it. Taking it slow is always a good thing between these two. And with the help of their friends and a little communication with each other they seem to be on the right track.

WOW, just amazing. So Bette and Helena found each other and had a really good time, but now they have to deal w/ working out the type of realtionship they want to have. I think Bette has every right to be jealous that Helena was sleeping w/ multiple people while in London. Bette hasn’t been w/ anyone but Jodi and Hels is sleeping all around. I just hope they can work things out and get bacl to the lovin. Talk about smokin hot sex…..HOT!!! PPS.

Should be interesting to see how Shane and Alice view what Bette has to tell them. It’s a big step but it needs to be taken. I’m liking this thoughtful Helena who wants to take this slowly.
