“Oh Tina. Chris called and said their flight would be landing at 12:45. I need somebody to go pick them up because Winnie and I have a hair appointment tomorrow.” Josie said.

“Okay I will make sure that somebody gets them. Good night.” Tina said. She gave her mom a kiss on the cheek and left the room. She crawled into the bed next to Jess and kissed her goodnight.

“Goodnight babe.” She said to Bette who was half asleep.

“Goodnight T.” She said quietly

Myrtle Beach Airport

“Uncle Chris.” Jess running a jumping into Chris’s arms.

“Hey slugger.” He said walking towards Tina and Hannah.

“Hey what about me.” Ryan said teasing Jess. Ryan was Chris’s boyfriend of 3 years. They lived in San Francisco and visited LA often.

“Hi Uncle Ryan.” Jess reached for him. Chris handed Jess to him.

“Hey baby brother.” Hannah said giving Chris a hug.

“Hey Ryan.” Tina said giving him a friendly kiss on the cheek. “How was the flight?”

“Long.” Chris said. “Where is everyone?”

“Mom had to get her hair done before the party at the river tonight.” Hannah said.

“I almost forgot about that.” Chris said.

“Mom did. She is out shopping with Hazel and we have to go meet them at the mall. They are going to make me wear a skirt.” Jess pouted to her uncles.

“I for one think you look cute in a skirt.” Ryan said. Jess got down out of his arms.

“Okay.” Tina said smiling at her manipulative daughter. “Lets go because we really do have to meet them.”

Party

Bette held Jess’s hand as the group walked the two blocks down to the river from the house. All the adults had, had a drink or two before everyone was ready to go. Bette had on a white skirt with a matching jacket and a light purple tank under the jacket. Tina had on white pants and matching jacket with a blue shirt under it. They were totally doing the twin thing. Jess had on a blue jeans and a pink t-shirt with a couple little purple flowers on it. She wore Bette and Tina down after hours of begging. Everyone else was dressed in dressy casual clothing. The music from the live band could be heard a block away. The party was block party that only the “Old Little River” people and their families went. The public was invited but not many showed up. It was just an excuse to get together with old friends.
