Life with Mom and Tina Ch 15

The boat rental office was set up to be the kid friendly area. They put a fence around the parking lot. Inside the fence was a bounce house and a inflatable obstacle coarse and games. There was a bunch of tables lined up down the street for the people who had made dinner reservations. There was a crowd of about thirty gathering around the table. After the Dinner the kids were quickly escorted to kiddy area. So the adults could enjoy the party with out worrying about keeping up with their kids.

Tina introduced Bette to a slew of people who she had grown up with. Bette kept glancing at the kids.

    “Babe what’s wrong?” Tina asked.

“Oh Nothing. I am just going to get a beer.” Bette said walking to the open bar. Ryan walked up beside her.

“So how do you like the party?” He asked.

“Its um” Bette said sipping her beer looking around.

“Wanna sit.” Ryan said pointing to one of porch swings hanging from the 100 year old oak trees.

“sure.” Bette said walking to the closet one.

“I know. This can be a bit overwhelming.” Ryan said as they sat and began to swing a little.

    “Yeah.” Bette said.

“I remember the first time Chris brought me to one of these things. I was in..”

    “In culture shock.” Bette interrupted.

“Yep.” Ryan said. They sat back and watched the people gossiping and catching up with one another. They were outsiders looking in.

It was getting late and most of the people had left. A lady walked up with Jess. Jess climbed into Bette’s lap.

“Somebody wanted you.” she said, and walked away.

“How long do these things usually go on?” Bette asked stroking Jess’s hair who had laid her head on Bette’s shoulder. The slow rocking of the swing was quickly putting her to sleep.

“They usually go until the alcohol runs out.” Ryan said taking a drink from his water bottle.

“Really.” Bette said watching a man that she had met but couldn’t remember his name stumble.

“They have mats for the kids in the office.” He said.

“She’s okay.” Bette said. Jess turned her face into Bette’s neck.

    1. Another baby would make a good family. That would really unite them. who would be the birth Mother. I think it should be Tina, she is so Mother Earth. thanks

    2. Yep, alcohol + big open space = partytime around here. lol I can understand the culture shock Bette is going through. I go through it when I go to a big city.

    3. “How could I not want another Jess running around our home causing trouble.” So cute and funny. I think that Tina wants to be the one who get pregnant. From what she said previously to her family in the kitchen. Either way, another baby for B & T. Thanks for the update.
