“Sure, what do you want to hear?” Bette asked laying down next to Jess.

“Tell me about the first time you met mama.” Jess said. Bette started the story and before she could finish it they were both fast asleep. Around midnight Tina came in the room to check on them. Alice walked into the doorway.

“They look so peaceful.” Tina said.

“Yeah.” Alice said.

“Will you help me?” Tina asked.

“Yeah sure with what?” she asked.

“Elfing.” Tina said.

The gang went up stairs gradually starting at about one. They all knew that Jess was going to up early, and that Bette and Tina probably unsuccessful in keeping her in the bed until a reasonable hour.

Jess popped up in the bed at a 8:15.

“sweetie go back to sleep it is not time to get up yet.” Tina said.

“Yes huh. Its Christmas.” Jess said.

“Lay back down and we will get up a 9″ Bette said pulling Jess back down to the bed.

“Mom. I need to go see if Santa came last night.” Jess said trying to sit up.

“It can wait 45 minutes.” Tina said putting her arm over Jess. Jess gave up and laid there for a while.

“I can’t go back to sleep I am to excited.” Jess said. Bette sat up.

“Okay but you have to go wake everyone up before you can go see.” Bette said.

“Okay.” Jess popped up again. Bette opened the door and stood in the hall way to block Jess from going to the living room. Jess ran up the stairs and into the newly painted Blue room. Everyone was asleep in sleeping bags and on pallets. Alice and Lilly were closet the door.

“Alice wake up. Its Christmas.” Jess said shaking her.

“uuuuhhhhh” She said stretching. Jess moved over to Kit and Dana who were beside each other.

“Aunt Kit come on we have to go see if Santa came.” Jess said sitting on Kit’s butt. Kit pulled Jess off of her and started tickling her.

“Don’t you know how early it is.” Kit said. Jess was wiggling and laughing loudly. Dana sat up and joined in on the fun.

“But its Christmas.” Jess said laughing. She managed to wiggle away from them and over to Shane who was completely covered up under the covers.

“Shane” Jess whispered pulling up the covers. Shane didn’t stir. “Shane” Jess said louder. She still didn’t stir. Jess tried shaking her but that didn’t work either. Jess decided to try something daring. She licked her finger and stuck it in Shane’s ear. Shane jumped up. Everyone laughed. Jess jumped back towards preparing herself for Shane’s revenge. Shane looked at Jess and laughed. They all headed downstairs. Mimi, Ivy, Chris, Ryan and Tucker had been woken up by all the commotion. Bette stopped them at the end of the hallway giving Tina time to get ready with the camera.

“Okay no running.” Bette said moving out of the way. Jess walked very quickly into the living room her face lit up when she saw that Santa had brought her a new saddle for her horse and some riding clothes. He also brought her a new bat bag new cleats a new bat and helmet with her name airbrushed on the back.

“Wow. It is just what I wanted.” Jess said running over to the saddle. “Look mom it has my initials on it.” She rubbed her fingers over the JKP.

“You must have been very good. If you got everything that you wanted.” Lilly said.

“Well I didn’t get any Legos or any Gameboy games.” Jess said, Trying her helmet on. Tucker was playing with the cars that he had gotten.

Jess went thoroughly through all of her gifts from Santa. Everyone’s stocking were full of goodies.

“Mama, I can’t reach my stocking.” Jess said trying to unhook hers.

“Hold on let me help.” Tina said walking up behind Jess and unhooking it for her and handing it to her.

“Thanks.” Jess said. She took to steps and dumped out her stocking. She pulled out a chocolate Santa and opened it. “You guys don’t want to see what is in your stockings.” Jess said with a mouth full of chocolate. She was sitting on the floor in the middle of her stuff.
