Oh man, I really must be dreaming! Bette thought, and what a dream it is. She was happy, but she couldn’t let Tina know. So she decided to ask her what happened.

Tina explained the whole situation. After listening Bette said: “Well than, I’m glad we didn’t call her.” “Yeah me too.” Tina yawned. “Are you tired?” Bette asked her. “A little.” Tina yawned again. “Well why don’t you go take a nap! And I’ll start ahead on dinner.” Tina looked surprised. “Bette Porter you are a woman full of surprises.” Bette just smiled at her.

Sarah walked in at 6.00 pm. “Hi Sarah how was your day?” Bette asked her, as she was finishing dinner. “Hi aunt B, it was great!” “Well you’re right on time, dinner is almost served!” “That’s great, I’ll just go take a quick shower and get changed.” “Ok. Can you wake up T when you’re finished?” “Sure.”

After dinner Bette and Sarah did the dishes as Tina went to lie down on the couch. When the dishes were done, they decided to watch a movie. When Sarah started to fall asleep, she decided to call it a night. She said goodnight and went to bed.

Tina also decided to call it a night. She went to her bedroom and got changed. When she walked back into the living room she noticed that Bette was already on the couch under the covers. Tina sat down next to Bette and looked at her. “I just wanted to tell you goodnight.” Bette smiled at Tina. “Well goodnight T.” “Goodnight Bette.” Tina leaned into Bette and kissed her on the cheek. As Tina was leaving Bette said: “T, can I ask you a question?” “Sure.” “Was it true what Sarah said? That you still love me.” Bette almost whispered the last part afraid of Tina’s answer. “I’ve never stopped Bette.” Tina said truly. She turned and walked away.

Ten minutes had passed and Bette couldn’t catch sleep. She kept thinking about Tina saying she had never stopped loving her. Maybe there is a chance for us, she thought. Please let there be a chance she silently begged. Meanwhile Tina was tossing and turning. Like Bette she couldn’t catch her sleep. She got up and walked quietly back into the living room. As she approached Bette she could see she wasn’t sleeping. Bette sat up when she saw Tina coming to her. She asked: “T, is everything ok?” “No!” Tina answered quietly. “What’s wrong?” Bette asked concerned. “I can’t sleep.” “Neither can I!” Bette said. “Babe, can you come to bed with me? To hold me?” Bette didn’t answer Tina; she just got up, grabbed Tina’s hand and walked into Tina’s bedroom. They got under the covers, snuggling close to each other, just holding each other. As Tina was falling asleep Bette asked: “T, would it be ok if we talk tomorrow? Really talk tomorrow?” “I would love that babe! But just hold me tonight!” Bette did as Tina asked and held her through the night.
