Long Way Home 15 (TLW/BG x-over)
“What?” Tina asked. “That’s correct, right?”
“It is, and people would wonder,” Helen confirmed.
Bette continued to look at her ex-partner, who seemed to hold an unusual amount of knowledge considering that she was not involved in the project.
“People would wonder on both sides. I don’t think it’d make any long-term friends anywhere.” Nikki gave a shrug.
Bette was beginning to feel on top of the information, and things weren’t adding up to be a net positive. “So, we’re potentially screwed, pardon the term.”
“Potentially.” Helen gave a nod. “A lot depends on circumstance.”
Nikki looked between Helen and Bette several times, but didn’t speak.
“What, Nikki?” Helen asked, sounding tired.
“There’s something very obvious here that I think you need to consider,” Nikki started. She motioned towards Bette. “Has Denny seen her? Has she seen Denny?”
“Could you tell ‘her’ what you’re talking about?” Bette’s words were growing sharper.
To Tina, this was a clear sign that her ex’s temper was waning, but she didn’t expect the others to necessarily pick up on the signals.
“What I think Nikki is referring to is the fact that Denny’s father was black, her mother white.”
From Bette’s reaction Tina knew that this was news to Bette.
“Denny always thought this might be a reason that her mother put her in care,” Nikki explained. “I don’t think it was the cause, but I think you could have Denny’s heritage work for you.”
“You think just because both of us are part black, that this is enough?”
“It’s clearly important to you.” Nikki motioned towards Angelica.
Bette was unsure about how this information could be used, or whether or not it would even be helpful. Nikki did have a point, though, about how Bette had used her own heritage in steering the choice of a donor for herself and Tina.
“Ok, if Denny’s the sticking point, we’ll have to try to set up something where we get, I don’t know, pictures?” Helen shrugged.
“How about a video feed?” Tina looked at the others.
“I think you’ve just killed the prison service budget,” Nikki sniped.
“Not necessarily,” Tina countered. “Do they have personal computers connected to the internet.”
“Yeah,” Helen acknowledged. “They’d have those at most all facilities.”
“Well then, the rest is simple.” Tina looked at her daughter. “Right?”
Angelica laughed and replied, “no.”

Angelica the wise… ; ) Looking forward to more.
Out of the mouth of babes. This smell so fishie to me. ……………………………….Is Nikki and Helen trying to get to Bette? Please post soon
Man, that Angelica sure can be a wet blanket. Geez, pseud, it had been so long that I forgot about the brief conversation with Denny (and obviously that Denny was the artist). We can only hope that if ‘posh twat’ is a mild epithet for Denny she didn’t go off to such a degree that the service squashes the project or got herself put in solitary for too long. As you simply must let us know what happens next, I will continue to ignore your ?.
This is great and love Angie. Please post more, thanks!
great update pseud please continue
This is a great story to read, love the bantering between all of them, lets hope they can do the video feed to Denny, really enjoying this cross-over story.
Ah, the posh… one… continues to come up against obstacles at every turn. Or does she? Tina’s solved at least one of Bette’s problems anyway. Hopefully Bette’s not so obtuse as to not ask for her help with other things… since she’s obviously floundering. Nice update, pseud. Thanks
ill just say the not swearing in front of the kids, is posh twat!!!! ;)lol i was a prolific swearer in front of my kids, and not a one of them swears, funny, huh?? i mean that might not be the norm, but its what happened with my kids. but it does look good in public if your covering your kids ears when ‘adults’ are in conversation. bad girls is on logo, i really need to watch it. thx and no more ??? please
