Bette enjoyed the quality time she usually shared with her daughter, but today was different she felt Tina’s presence within their home. Something she hadn’t felt for quite some time. This past year in reality had broken down a lot of the fundamental issues that glued them together- kept them grounded. After having Angelica, Bette felt her needs within her relationship to Tina had changed, no longer was it about elaborate and non essential dinner party with corporate tycoons, it was home life that made her feel safe and loved. It hurt her deeper than she would have liked to let on that this downward spiral into this pit of despair only sufficed to ruckus a ever slow breaking heart. 

As she played with Angelica and enjoyed the day to day tasks that always seemed endless with the help and support of her life partner, she felt doomed to be a bored housewife. Sure work was a challenge all of it’s own, but work now had a whole new meaning with having a daughter to come home too. The brunette knew all too well things could instantly change over night, it did the night Tina and Angelica came home from the hospital. Bette wanted to love, protect and support her family frankly in any way she humanly could. Motherhood suited her but not necessarily co-parenting with Tina it would seem. Tina had been impossible to work with when it came to juggling mediocre chores, childcare and generally being a sound board for the mocha beauty. But underneath all the mundane amusements of everyday life, she knew Tina had been drifting for quite some time. It wasn’t about sex, the brunette laughed as she thought that. When would ‘Bette Porter’ deny or dismiss and obviously wanton woman from what they need? 

Listening to her daughter chuckle as they played with the visual and audio bear they  brought last week, she was quickly saddened as she realised some of the hurt came from Tina not wanting to spend an adequate amount of time with her family. The blonde had easily gone days, weeks and even months where she worked seven days a week and came home for a few hours shut eye only to be up again before the birds tweeted and dispersed through the clear blue skies. She would miss the vital routine Bette had worked hard at maintaining, sometimes crying herself to sleep on the nights Angelica proved to be more than a handful. The days were long and the nights even longer; they took their toll breaking her slowly day by day as herself and Tina danced around one another almost non-exist within the home they shared.
