Tina pulled every string with her agent connections to get her on the next flight out of SF to Miami. As she sat on the flight, she considered the day. This morning she was waking up in the arms of the woman she loved and making love all night and tonight she was flying home alone, holding to a desperate hope that her belief in their love wasn’t misguided. She rubbed her head and resisted having another drinking. Instead, she reached in her bag and took part of a sleeping pill so that when she landed that night, she would have enough energy to have the discussion with Bette she’d need to have. Tina would collect Katie in the morning, the one, sure bright spot making her smile.
Bette landed shortly before 10 and found Carlos waiting for her at the gate, a solemn look on her face even as he greeted her with a kiss.
“Carlos, what is this about?”
“Niña, you need to speak to Nan. Its best if she tell you everything.”
Bette blew out a breath of frustration, knowing that would be the answer but hoping to find out right away more than Nan had told her on the phone.
While she was worried about what Jody had done to set Nan off, she was equally upset about having to leave Tina with only a note.
“Carlos, can I borrow you’re phone?” She dialed Tina’s cellphone number but only got her voice mail and opted to not leave a message. Instead she dialed Dana’s number.
“Hello?” Dana answered. She had just managed to feel the vibration of her phone because hearing it wouldn’t have been possible in the loud club.
“Dana, its Bette. Can I speak to Tina?” Bette spoke up to help ensure she was heard.
“Um Bette, Tina’s not here.” The tone of Dana’s voice told her that Tina wasn’t simply out of the room.
“Where is she?” she asked almost fearfully.
“Well, she’s actually on a flight to Miami.”
Bette was speechless for a moment. “Is she really?”
“Yes. I’m not sure what you said in your message but it put her into a tailspin.” Dana informed her.

Nice Chapter and liked the way you put in some back drop information like Tina remembering that Bette had referred to Nan differently on a few ocassions and the photo’s was a nice touch as well.However….. come on RC give up the next chapter I can sense that you either have it written already or perhaps at least written out in your head. I know that you like playing tennis but we all like ready your stories and lets face it. It is much better to please your loyal fans than actually play tennis ;-)PPS

Hmm. I think the stuff has more to do with Jody than it does with Bette. Maybe he gambles on sports or something that would tarnish her image. If it is proof of a B&T relationship.. I hope she kicks him to the curb. She is finally happy. Hope they get through it together. PPS.

I hope that Aunty Nan, Tina and Bette can take Jody down for the count. He is probably going to try and blackmail Bette but I am sure that he has some skeltons of his own in his closet. Kick that man to the curb soon.
Great chapter, guess Jody has been having Bette followed, and he is about to lose his meal ticket, hope you can get rid of him soon, and love how you have got B&T together after the mis-understanding with the note. Please Post again soon.

I loathe Jody, so very much. Even if he does have some sort of evidence, so what? I pray Bette signed a prenup. I hope Auntie Nan is able to help Bette sort out whatever it is, or has some dirt on Jody. So glad Bette was able to get Tina at the airport and they’ve sorted out that misunderstanding. I really like that Dana is not a big ditz in this story. I also like how the note thing was resolved quickly.
I concur with my fellow fans. Photos may mean a little embarrassment Bette being married and all but it will soon pass. Hope nan has been keeping tabs on Jody and his sleezy ways, maybe she has some photos of him cheating. he is just stupid enough to have brought someone to Bette’ home while she was away. PPS

F___ing Jody probably has a private detective following them around and there are photos. So turn the table follow him, bet he’s up to other shady things. Nan knows all, time to cut that man loose. Love how Bette went back to the airport to get Tina.
