Bette was surprised. She had thought to leave a message that kept Tina from worrying.
“Why. What do you mean?” she demanded.
Dana thought for a moment that she might have spoken out of turn but decided she was committed now.
“Well, at first she was incredibly upset but then I think Shane calmed her down and suddenly she was out the door with Shane to the airport.”
Bette clenched her fist in frustration to every thing that was happening. She would like nothing better than being with Tina at the club dancing, except being alone with her in bed. Her chest tightened at the sudden fear that the days event’s or whatever it was that Jody was up to might prevent that from ever happening again. Just as suddenly she refused to allow herself to think about that.
“What time does Tina’s flight get in?” Bette asked.
“Uh, she didn’t leave that much later than you. I think around 11:30pm. She’s on United.”
Bette looked at her watch. It was 10:30. “Ok thanks Dana. Have fun and I’ll see you soon.” Bette said, barely waiting for Dana to reply before turning off the phone.
“Carlos, I’m sorry but we need to go back to the airport. Tina’s landing soon and I want to get her.”
Carlos simply nodded and looked for an opportunity to turn around. “You should call Nan,” he advised in her thick Argentinean dialect.
Tina was in two minds as she got off the airplane – in a way, she was excited to see Bette again and at the same time terrified that what they had shared was just a result of the surroundings.
As she made her way through the gate, she was stopped in her tracks – there at the end was Bette, looking back at her with a look that must have mirrored her own, a mixture of excitement and fear.
Tina and Bette slowly moved towards one another and as they were close enough, Bette held out her arms, silently praying that Tina accepted the invitation. After only a momentary pause, Tina moved forward and found herself engulfed by her love. Whatever was happening, they would face it together.

Nice Chapter and liked the way you put in some back drop information like Tina remembering that Bette had referred to Nan differently on a few ocassions and the photo’s was a nice touch as well.However….. come on RC give up the next chapter I can sense that you either have it written already or perhaps at least written out in your head. I know that you like playing tennis but we all like ready your stories and lets face it. It is much better to please your loyal fans than actually play tennis ;-)PPS

Hmm. I think the stuff has more to do with Jody than it does with Bette. Maybe he gambles on sports or something that would tarnish her image. If it is proof of a B&T relationship.. I hope she kicks him to the curb. She is finally happy. Hope they get through it together. PPS.

I hope that Aunty Nan, Tina and Bette can take Jody down for the count. He is probably going to try and blackmail Bette but I am sure that he has some skeltons of his own in his closet. Kick that man to the curb soon.

I loathe Jody, so very much. Even if he does have some sort of evidence, so what? I pray Bette signed a prenup. I hope Auntie Nan is able to help Bette sort out whatever it is, or has some dirt on Jody. So glad Bette was able to get Tina at the airport and they’ve sorted out that misunderstanding. I really like that Dana is not a big ditz in this story. I also like how the note thing was resolved quickly.
I concur with my fellow fans. Photos may mean a little embarrassment Bette being married and all but it will soon pass. Hope nan has been keeping tabs on Jody and his sleezy ways, maybe she has some photos of him cheating. he is just stupid enough to have brought someone to Bette’ home while she was away. PPS

F___ing Jody probably has a private detective following them around and there are photos. So turn the table follow him, bet he’s up to other shady things. Nan knows all, time to cut that man loose. Love how Bette went back to the airport to get Tina.
