    Tina starts to get a sense of Jody’s true colors.

    Chapter 5

     

    Monday found Tina bright and early at the club with Bette sharing a pre-training breakfast with her.  They were going through the array of tasks that needed to taken care of before Bette’s tourney in Palermo the following week.

     

    Tina tried unsuccessfully to hider her shock at finding out that the hotel reservations hadn’t even been made. 

     

    “I told you I’m horrible at this.  I mean how could I forget something so basic?” Bette said with self recrimination.

     

    Tina giggled, shook her head and covered Bette’s hand with her own.  “Bette each of us have things we’re good at and things we should be focusing on.  Making travel plans is not the latter for you and I’m guessing not the former either.”

     

    “This is very true. Thank God you’re here.”

     

    “Thanks for the vote of confidence.  Now, where’s your preference in Palermo?   The intercontinental is near the courts and has great workout facilities. ”

     

    “That’s fine.  Tina, we probably should have talked about this before.  I would love to have you, and Katie, come with me but I understand if you don’t want to bring her or leave her.”

     

    Tina played with her pen thinking of her answer. “There may be times when I can’t leave Katie but I do understand that as your personal assistant I need to be with you to really be of value.  I think that’s especially important now so I will come with you.  I’m gonna bring Katie with me though if you don’t mind.  For California, though, she’ll be staying with her grandparents.”

     

    Bette smiled in relief.  “Thank you Tina.  You don’t know how relieved I am that your coming and I’d love to have Katie there.  At least then Ill know that I have one fan there.”

     

    “Two.”  Tina winked at Bette who warmed at the thought. “You better get going.  You due on the courts with Rico at 830.” Tina reminded as she checked her watch.

     

    “Dios, you’re right.”  Bette agreed as she looked at the clock on the wall. “You’re ok?” 

     

    Tina gestured that Bette shouldn’t worry.  “Go on I’ve got enough to keep me busy all day.”

     

    As she stood up and gathered her gear, Bette flashed Tina a smile that went right through her. “See you at lunch.” She said as she turned to leave.

    3. Yeah, let Jody go find a new playmate to manipulate. Bette needs to dump his ass. Way to go Tina for standing up to this creep and I am glad that Bette stood beside Tina and not slink off with Jody.

    5. WAy to go Bette, love how she not only stood up for Tina, but herself as well. Jody your days are numbered. Maybe Bette, will find time for her, Tina, and Katie to do a little sight seeing in Italy.

    8. Good thing Tina has a backbone or Jody would have walked all over her like he has with Bette. Now that she has a PA who has her back she will see what a jerk jody is and he’s only out for himself and how much money he can make off of Bette. PPS

    9. More! I like this story a lot. The progression is at a steady pace. Jody is frustrating.. But Bette doesn’t seem to have much time for him anyway so that’s good.

    13. Ooh, burn! Jody just got shown up, big time. Serves him right, pompous, leeching idiot that he is. Bette can’t dump him soon enough. Great chapter, I hope we’ll be getting more soon. Thanks, Robi (and thanks for the kind words).
