“Um Bette,” Tina stopped her. “Would you mind if I watched you for a bit?”
Bette was a little surprised at the request, not used to having friends want to watch her. “Sure. Hopefully I’ll do better today than I did last week.”
As she headed off to the court, Bette felt better and more motivated than she had in a while. Her confidence in Tina’s abilities was growing and with it she felt her tress decreasing.
For the first hour, Rico worked her hard. She knew her game wasn’t quite where it needed to be but a thought came unbidden into her head a feeling of relief knowing if Tina wasn’t seeing her ‘A’ game, she was at least not seeing her ‘C’.
She tried to keep her focus on the court but once in a while stole a glance who seemed to shift between watching writing and talking on the mobile. For some reason, just having her new P.A. near made Bette feel empowered.
Chapter 6
Tina sat in Bette’s office which now doubled as her own. She was going through Bette’s itinerary and noted a few appointments in there she didn’t recognize as having been there prior. Both were interviews which either conflicted with her training time or were later than she should be staying up. She picked up the phone and called Al to see if she could give her contact details for the two and to get her opinion on the journalists.
“Hey Al, its Tina. Got a sec?”
“Hey TK. No worries. I’m just working through this idea I have of charting all the tennis player relationships. What do you think?”
“I think you have too much time on your hands and need a girlfriend.” Tina answered.
Al snorted. “You know Tina, one could say the same for you – the girlfriend part that is. Have you met Bette’s hitting partner yet? She’s hot.”
“Yes, I’ve met Helena and she does seem lovely but I’m not really looking – even if she was interested.”
“Oh, she’s interested.” Al informed. “She was asking me about your sit-u-a-tion”
Tina blew out an exasperated breath and Al could almost feel her rolling her eyes. “Al, let’s just focus on your love life, ok? Now, I have a couple of questions that require your robust knowledge of the industry.”

I don’t think we’ve expressed how much we dislike Jody. LOL! But seriously, he’s a real dipshit for wanting Bette to mess up her schedule.

Yeah, let Jody go find a new playmate to manipulate. Bette needs to dump his ass. Way to go Tina for standing up to this creep and I am glad that Bette stood beside Tina and not slink off with Jody.
So just how fast can we get rid of Jody? Glad to see Tina standing toe to toe with the tow bit pimp.
WAy to go Bette, love how she not only stood up for Tina, but herself as well. Jody your days are numbered. Maybe Bette, will find time for her, Tina, and Katie to do a little sight seeing in Italy.

Good thing Tina has a backbone or Jody would have walked all over her like he has with Bette. Now that she has a PA who has her back she will see what a jerk jody is and he’s only out for himself and how much money he can make off of Bette. PPS
More! I like this story a lot. The progression is at a steady pace. Jody is frustrating.. But Bette doesn’t seem to have much time for him anyway so that’s good.
