chapter 27:

Bette and Tina enjoy their night out.  Tina explains everything that happened including what she learned of her mom’s past.  Bette was very sympathetic to Tina’s mom and voiced her concerns over the national issue of bullying, especially of gay kids.  Tina loves that Bette has such a huge heart but she still has a nagging feeling about her dad.

“Babe I hope my dad is as understanding and supportive of us as mom is.”

“Honey even if he isn’t, having your mom on our side will help.  Just give her some time to speak to him first.  No matter what happens T, I will still be here ok?”

“Why does it sound like you are sending me to the guillotine!”

“T, I have a little experience in this area.  Parents can be unpredictable and this can go a number of ways.  I just want you to know that no matter what, I still love and adore you.  Just remember that, ok?”

“I love you too babe.”  Tina closed the distance between her and Bette to plant a big kiss on the softest most kissable lips ever. Bette pulled away before it got too heated.  They’re sitting in Bette’s car in the parking lot of the theater.  Bette knew she had to take Tina home before it got too late.  Tina’s curfew was 11 and the last thing she wanted to do was give her dad any other reason to regard her negatively.

On the way to Tina’s house Bette asked what Tina will do about coming out to the student body at Clinton high. 

“I do not know.  I’m sure I have to do it though because I don’t like those skanks thinking they have a chance with you.  Or your ex fuck buddies trying to get another taste of the unforgettable Bette Porter.” Tina said getting a little upset with the thought of how many girls Bette has been with.

Bette can see Tina’s jealousy rearing its head again.  Bette pulls over so she can look into Tina’s eyes.

“T look at me.”

Tina sighed loudly and turned to Bette.  Bette took Tina’s hand and kissed it.

“Tina, you know I have changed right?  I mean I’m not the same person I was before we started going out.  I may notice a pretty girl every once in a while but please know that whether you are with me or not, I am most certainly not thinking about taking her to bed.  You are the only one I want to share myself with in that way.  Ok?”
