Chapter 60:
Bette’s stomach was in knots as she dialed Tina’s number. Bette waited a whole day to call because she knew she had been an ass and that Tina would be upset. She regrets hanging up on the blond the way she did. More than that she regrets calling Arianna in the first place.
Tina picked up on the third ring.
“Yes.” Tina answered in a very matter of fact tone.
“Tina,” Bette said softly. “How are you?”
“How do you think I am Bette? You asked me that asinine question about fucking other chicks and then you had the nerve to hang up on me. How would you feel if it were reversed?” Tina said while closing her bedroom door. She doesn’t want her parents to hear what is sure to be a heated conversation.
Bette knew Tina was right. She still had no real answer for the blond. Part of her feels it was just her acting out because she misses her girlfriend so damned much it aches at times. There is a big chance the distance will continue when Tina chooses a school other than Stanford, and this worries her that they may not make it.
“Elizabeth Porter, answer me damn it!” Bette was startled out of her inner thoughts when she heard the blond raise her voice.
Bette usually loved when Tina used her full name but she doesn’t like hearing the blond so upset. Especially since she is the cause.
“Baby, I..”
“Don’t baby me. You don’t get to call me that right now. Just tell me the truth Bette. Did you find a piece of ass last night or what?” Tina asked the one question that has been on her mind all day long.
Bette hesitated for a second. She was thinking of the best way to approach it.
“Tina when I hung up I was extremely frustrated……..and I did a dumb thing. I did call someone.” Tina is shocked by this. They have a fight and the first thing Bette does is calls some girl.
“Who?”
“This girl I met last year named Arianna, but Tina I promise you, nothing happened.” Bette stated emphatically hoping the blond could feel her sincerity over the phone.
“You mean the hottie that reminds you of one of your favorite singers, Rihanna?”

Thanks for the update…Tina needs to hold Bette responsible for her actions, even if she is lonely!! There are more appropriate things to do than call an old girlfriend and go out dancing!!!
Of course you don’t get medals for doing the right thing (not banging some random chick for Bette). But let’s give Bette some credit for knowing she was wrong and calling Tina to apologize and discuss what she had done. Tina is more mature than i realized; it’s good that she can see how hard it most be for Bette going from being with a girl every day to seeing her gf a couple times a year. Has Tina made a decision about school yet? I see te road getting a lot rockier if they wind up on 2 different campuses. Thanks for another great update, pps!

A mistake is something you make without any knowledge of consequences. Bette knew she was being a douche nozzle and yet proceeded to call and then get heated but not busy with the ho. She knew that what she did would hurt the girl she loves, that’s disrespecting Tina by far not using sex to distract her. Bette has no integrity and that’s one of the reasons why this LDR will never work. I’ve seen plenty of people in LDR’s but a douche like this Bette couldn’t even make it past the cab. This isn’t about Tina getting even, this is about her getting what she deserves; and right now, Bette is not it, even though you may think or feel that Bette deserves a second chance from Tina. I do appreciate your posts and you have Bravo style drama. Thank god it’s fiction. 😘
Bette allowed herself to be kissed, I did not understand if Tina is aware of this part? But as I understand it only took Bette aware of what he was doing when he read the message from Tina. Then the question, will be that she would not continue??!!. Bette can be used to be a player having women at will, but that does not justify, if Bette is feeling lack of affection and attention I believe Tina also is, more nor hence is falling in the arms of another woman. I love your story.PPS. —-( Bette is coming out quite easy this situation.) :)

No, Tina I don’t think you guys are cool. Tina never learned that Bette shared a kiss with another female.. Tut tut.. I mean they didn’t have sex, but still, not cool lady! -_- great story btw :)
Wow! very interesting comments. Yes, Bette is suffering form the long distance, but I did think that it was an interesting comment that Tina made that maybe she realized that it was just as hard on Bette as it was her. I give a small kudo to Bette for coming clean with Tina and being mature enough to take responsibility for her actions. Yes, she went over the line a bit with Ariana but she didn’t sleep with her. I think that they could make it as Tina is hard on her to be responsible for her choices and actions and that will help Bette be good and respectful of Tina in the future. I have hope.
A relationship without mutual trust is not worth pursuing, but they are young and probably think all the drama is indicative of the depth of their connection. When they get older they’ll probably prefer a good night’s sleep over arguing on the telephone. I hope they can resolve the distance issue before their games and grades suffer. I wonder if Bette will be able to keep her end of the bargain.

Bette waited a day whole to call Tina, meanwhile Tina was having difficulty concentrating on his game, waiting for a call from his girlfriend. The dating long distance, is being already damaging and this is not healthy. Tina can trust Bette – will that next discussion or frustration, Bette will not look again “the second person to the eye castalhos nicest she’s ever seen,” since the first person is far away??!!!. Tina’s mother said a great phrase, “Honey, you’ve heard that if you love someone, you should let them go?” Maybe Tina should actually follow this advice, and maybe at some future time they may be reunited again. moreeeeeeee :)
