“So why did you tell me?”

“How would you have felt if I didn’t and then you found out later?”

“I guess I would be upset that you hid it from me.”

“Exactly.  So I would appreciate it if you would not act as though you suspect I did something wrong.  Don’t you trust me T?”

Tina thought about it and she knew Bette was right.  If she had kept this from her and she found out later, her immediate thought would be that Bette must have cheated.  She is not being fair to her love.

“I’m sorry babe.  You’re right, and I am glad you told me.  I guess there will be aggressive fans at times.  Especially since you are doing so well.”

“Babe you know you are the only one I want, always.  You will just have to trust me.”

“I know B.  I do trust you babe.  You know what, I don’t think I need to know every time some fan comes onto you.  As long as they keep their hands to themselves I don’t need to know.”

“Really?  You don’t want to hear about it if a naked woman shows up at my door at some hotel?”

“Are you trying to make me upset B?”

“No Tina.  I just want to know if something like that ever happened, would you want me to tell you?”

Tina thought about this for a moment.  On one hand, she knows that hearing certain things will spark her old insecurities.  On the other hand she knows that her Bette are solid and Bette would never cheat on her.

“No B.  I trust you.”  Tina said exhaling the breath she was holding.

This made Bette relax a bit more.

“So T, are you coming to our game against in LA?”

“Yeah me and a couple of the my team mates will be there.  You know the hometown crowd is going to be happy to see you play.”

“I hope so.  I just want to play well.  Unfortunately with this crazy ass schedule we have, we’ll be on a plane to play the Washington Mystics immediately following the game.”

“That’s ok.  I know you have to do your job.  I’ll get to see you when you come home during the off season.”
“Yeah for like a month before you have to go back to school.”

“We knew this would be difficult when you were drafted.  We will be ok.”

“I know we will.”

“Well you get some sleep and I’ll call you tomorrow.  I love you.”

“I love you too T and thanks.”

“Thanks for what?”

“For being so understanding.  You have an amazing heart.”

“Just remember you promised to take care of it B.”

“I did and I meant it.”

“Ok superstar, sweet dreams.”

“You too sweetie.”
