LOVE AND PRIDE – Chapter 69
Tina checked the toast under the grill and went to pour some pineapple juice into the glasses on the kitchen table. Bette was still getting dressed so Tina had come downstairs to prepare breakfast. Right on cue Bette appeared wearing faded jeans that had a rip across the knee and a black baggy Led Zeppelin tee-shirt. Tina smiled at her with some amusement.
“Since when have you been taking fashion tips from McCutcheon?”
Bette laughed and greeted Tina – kissing her passionately
“Well Shane is a red hot lover and so am I “
“You are really? – what fool told you that Porter?”
“A cracking Southern belle called Tina “
“She is clearly deranged “Tina said smiling “Now sit down – coffee and juice are on the table and I’m just grilling some toast “
“Thanks honey – I was going to suggest we went out for a cooked breakfast “
“Oh no Elizabeth Porter – we are getting too fond of those things – its time we stepped up our preparations for the track season. Are you any good at tennis?”
“Reasonable – why?”
“Dana is in the First team – really good player – she wondered if any of us played – Alice and Shane hardly look the type so she asked me “
“Yeah – a couple of games of doubles would be a laugh – – Helena is pretty good at most racquet sports. Which reminds me – we haven’t played squash since I trashed you last term “
“Fluke – we’ll see what you are like on a tennis court – Helena or Lara and me against you and Dana – I fancy our chances “
Bette glanced at her watch – 9:16am
“I wonder what time they let her out – they wouldn’t put her up in front of the court today would they? “
“Depends – they might just let her off with another warning “
“And they might decide that two offences in less than six months means that she needs to be punished “
Tina placed the hot toast on the plates and sat down, Bette kissed Tina to thank her for making their meal – she liked to take any excuse to kiss her lover’s lips.

This is great. I have a lot of catching up to do but the descriptions of the drunken musketeers are winners.
I’m totally with funnyone here. Sara seemed so cool. What a fuckin’ bitch! “Carm, I haven’t the foggiest idea what happened last night, but, since we’re here in bed, let’s fuck till the decade ends and then neither of us will feel so bad!” I also missed the vandalism episode of Sesame Street. Or maybe it was The Muppet Show…
I just realized this is chapter 69. Yes, I’m 27 going on 13 =p
Interesting. I do feel bad for Helena that Sara broke her heart. However, I think everyone blaming Alice and Shane but absolving Helena as being a follower just allows her to act stupid without taking responsibility for her actions. Helena is just as wrong as whoever may have started it. I hope Peggy comes down heavy handed. And that Bette stops thinking the sun shines out of Helena’s ass. You can love someone and still think they are a fuck-up. But the Sara and Carmen thing does suck for Helena. Love this story though..

Poor Helena, things just keep going from bad to worse. I’m afraid of Peggy’s arrival, she scares me a little. You got me hungry for toast at 9:30 at night! Thanks for the reply back.
Helena can’t win for losing her girlfriend is a bitch and Peggy is going to come and rip her a new one. The poor girl needs something good to happen in her life and soon I don’t know how much more she can take. PPS
Hello Ally, it looks like the drama is ramping right up. You do like to hit a dawg like Helena when she is down, First, a night in the cells, then Peggy on the rampage and now Sara ending things to be with Carmen. This is all messed up. IT is heart-warming to see the love that Bette has for her sister as well as the love that Tina now feels for Helena. It is awesome to have that kind of support. Helena will need it. Ally, as always, I adore your style and skills as an author. This little tale keeps rattling along. There are up and downs but what is important are the relationships between the women and their places in each others lives. These friends may last a lifetime or only through college but is awesome to be there a s part of it all. Many thanks, Your Loyal Fan.

OMG, it really is one shit sandwich after the next for Helena !!! And honestly, she doesn’t deserve this. Anyways, great twists Ally, and great drama. I’m enjoying this a lot. Thank you.
Geez, Ally, would you lighten up on Helena? Talk about kicking somebody when they’re down! And Peggy hasn’t even arrived yet and there’s still a court date to attend. Biro, huh? Must be a magic marker. When did the Muppets ever show a tendency to shoplifting and vandalism? I must have missed that episode of Sesame Street.
OK. I get that to have drama, one needs conflict. And, um, I’m sorry about this but, um, (whispering) I’d rather it be Helena than Bette ot Tina. Any place but on this board, that would probably make me a bad person. Good thing I spend so much time here that I can’t make it to any other boards.
