Love in Control – Chapter IX – Millenials Kiss (Part One)

I wanna write about us.
It had been a balmy late August-into-September Saturday night, right after they’d left a noisy West Village bar, when the model-type had confessed to Tiler about wanting to write about them. They’d been dodging waves of tipsy tourist and student types, dealing with taut tension between them that had started almost from the moment they’d met up outside of the West 4th street subway station.
The words had snapped Tiler awake from a buzzy haze, bringing the acrid smell of garbage mixed with a toxic slew of vomit, urine and spilt alcoholic drinks into sharp relief, overpowering even the chaotic mix of house music, rap, and the typical Saturday-night-jet-engine-like street noise that had banged on her ears.
A whole week had passed since Tiler had first heard that, and she still hadn’t been able to help but squirm and shudder whenever she’d thought about that scene.
I wanna write about us.
Wha-a-a-at? There’d been an “us” to write about?
Tiler winced yet again at the memory of that night, and at the woeful expression of the girl who’d finally said something about how she’d felt — an emotion Tiler hadn’t shared, quite frankly. Their “thing” had been fun and all, but it had gone on for much longer than the one-night encounter that Tiler had thought it had all been good for when they’d exchange hot glances across the dance floor of a bump-and-grind Chelsea bar/dance club. The model-type had more than a one-night thing in mind, though. She’d made that crystal clear the morning after, slipping quietly into the kitchen, still nude, while Tiler had been lazily flipping through the Sunday New York Times. With teasing licks down her neck while wrapping a surprised Tiler in a warm embrace, the model type asked what they were doing that night. It had sounded sweet. It had been a bothersome and hot late July. And she’d had nothing else going on. So Tiler had shrugged and had gone along with the model-type, figuring, ok, a few more days or a week max. But no “feels,” all right?
That had been more than a month ago, so, c’mon, it was time to move on from something that should have stayed a one-night thing.

Oh yes there you are been waiting for your visions. And even if your subject is about millennials ( I have nothing in common with them) they do keep me amused when they crash my table at a club or coffee shop and lay out all of their electronics across the table and ask me where I purchased my vintage sports wear at which I answer that it was not vintage when I bought it! I will still be happy and with glee read your next edition. Please keep writing
Hello friends, am finishing part two to this, and the rest of the book; also writing chapters for “Carol” — the characters for both projects remain so vivid in my mind that I can’t not write about them.
But I have a broader project in mind, which may mean I will likely take down the stories I’ve posted in the past, for this project. I find the timelines for all the stories have been pretty consistent, and that they all “bleed” into each other. I’ve been thinking of more actively connecting them, or most of them, and sequence the scenes and events in these stories in such a manner that the storyline will just flow.
But it involves over a hundred posts, and tons of characters and events, so it’ll be a tricky project. It’ll be interesting, though!
Please feel free to pm your suggestions/thoughts :-)
Happy Thanksgiving ladies! I’ve been writing, but other things have been happening,, so am not able to focus and tie the next chapter down. Hope you are all keeping well, in the meantime. Much love, S
