Love in Control – Chapter IX – Millenials Kiss (Part One)

She’d sped over the Manhattan bridge, and had gotten to the meeting point twenty minutes early, another surprise. So Tiler had gotten ice cream from a fave spot nearby that made one of her addictions, a trade-marked “Cereal Milk” version of soft ice cream. She’d been jonesing for a max serving of “Cereal Milk” with all the fixings all week, and now had a chance to fill up. When she’d been about to pay, she’d decided to get a couple more cups for Tina’s kids, who shared her intense liking for the unique ice cream from Momofuku Milkbar. Us kids gotta stick together, right?
Tiler had devoured her ice cream, to Tina’s bemusement, while Rachel had gotten lattes’ and Tina’s shaken ice tea.
“Breakfast,” she’d shrugged at Tina’s questioning look. “I missed brunch, remember?”
—————
While they waited for Rachel to return with their drinks, Tina continued to gently needle Tiler about her night-time habits. Tiler playfully responded, “So? I keep vampire hours, I admit. I’m young, unattached, and free….” As Tina mumbled something about feeling nostalgia about being that young, she juggled the ice cream cups Tiler had handed her earlier with one hand while adjusting her shoulder bag with the other. “Yeah, right. But I didn’t know ice cream was a hangover cure these days!”
“I didn’t know Cereal Milk ice cream was a cure either,” Tiler chuckled before she licked the last bits of ice cream from the bottom of the cup.
“…. Thanks, again, for getting TJ and Angie some!”
“You’re welcome!”
“Here you go, Tiler,” Rachel interrupted them as she handed Tiler a grande serving of the original “Pumpkin Spice Latte” or PSL to fans, that Tiler had asked for. “I think I’ll check you for a pulse if you aren’t in a sugar coma by the time you suck this down, after consuming all of that ice cream. You could be a zombie, after all.”
“Give her a break, Rach. We were all that young once, I think!” Tina remarked , shaking her head at the tall, young butch next to her as she accepted her shaken ice tea from Rachel.
“I can’t remember when that was, Tina,” Rachel answered in a pretend grumble.
Tina grinned back at her, and then laughed lightly in Tiler’s direction.

Oh yes there you are been waiting for your visions. And even if your subject is about millennials ( I have nothing in common with them) they do keep me amused when they crash my table at a club or coffee shop and lay out all of their electronics across the table and ask me where I purchased my vintage sports wear at which I answer that it was not vintage when I bought it! I will still be happy and with glee read your next edition. Please keep writing
Hello friends, am finishing part two to this, and the rest of the book; also writing chapters for “Carol” — the characters for both projects remain so vivid in my mind that I can’t not write about them.
But I have a broader project in mind, which may mean I will likely take down the stories I’ve posted in the past, for this project. I find the timelines for all the stories have been pretty consistent, and that they all “bleed” into each other. I’ve been thinking of more actively connecting them, or most of them, and sequence the scenes and events in these stories in such a manner that the storyline will just flow.
But it involves over a hundred posts, and tons of characters and events, so it’ll be a tricky project. It’ll be interesting, though!
Please feel free to pm your suggestions/thoughts :-)
Happy Thanksgiving ladies! I’ve been writing, but other things have been happening,, so am not able to focus and tie the next chapter down. Hope you are all keeping well, in the meantime. Much love, S
