Love in Control – Chapter IX – Millenials Kiss (Part One)

They went back and forth like this, but Tiler had long tuned out of it.
I wanna write about us.
Her thoughts turned to last week’s throwdown with the model-type NYU senior again, someone she’d seen semi-exclusively for most of the summer, except for a few flings here and there. A couple of weeks ago, though, the model-type’s hints about wanting a relationship were beginning to really weigh on things.
I want a real relationship, Tiler, and not just a physical one. Don’t you want the same thing? Tiler had frantically searched for exit signs when she couldn’t get the model-type to change her mind.
Why would I get you flowers? Tiler had protested when their argument began to boil over after that telling opening line about wanting to get their story out there.
Because that’s something you do when you make the person you’re going out with cry, Tiler!
But I didn’t do anything wrong! What did I do that was so wrong?
The argument continued as they negotiated the crowded streets of the West Village, interrupted now and then by late night revelers bumping into them during their slow walk across Washington Square.
Then they’d paused to listen to a woman playing a grand piano that the woman had somehow wheeled under the arch in the Square. A freakin’ grand piano dragged under a landmark arch of a crowded, public park by a street musician. Yeah — that’s raising the bar for street musicians everywhere. So, of course they, along with hordes of other late-night denizens hanging out in the park, had stopped and listened.
You did nothing wrong? How can you even say that…
Hang on, babe … listen to that!
Is that?
Yeah, a freakin’ grand piano!
Rachmaninoff? They’d not only stopped; they’d stayed for an hour, and Tiler had gone back and forth over that hour to drop bills into the plastic bucket the woman had set out behind her to implicitly invite the growing crowd listening to her play express their appreciation for her efforts with tips.
The woman played like she was in Carnegie Hall or Lincoln Center, instead of a park filled with the raucous chaos of a noisy summertime Saturday night in downtown New York. She made it easy to succumb to her magic spell as she teased raw emotion out of Chopin’s and Debussy’s timeless masterpieces.

Oh yes there you are been waiting for your visions. And even if your subject is about millennials ( I have nothing in common with them) they do keep me amused when they crash my table at a club or coffee shop and lay out all of their electronics across the table and ask me where I purchased my vintage sports wear at which I answer that it was not vintage when I bought it! I will still be happy and with glee read your next edition. Please keep writing
Hello friends, am finishing part two to this, and the rest of the book; also writing chapters for “Carol” — the characters for both projects remain so vivid in my mind that I can’t not write about them.
But I have a broader project in mind, which may mean I will likely take down the stories I’ve posted in the past, for this project. I find the timelines for all the stories have been pretty consistent, and that they all “bleed” into each other. I’ve been thinking of more actively connecting them, or most of them, and sequence the scenes and events in these stories in such a manner that the storyline will just flow.
But it involves over a hundred posts, and tons of characters and events, so it’ll be a tricky project. It’ll be interesting, though!
Please feel free to pm your suggestions/thoughts :-)
Happy Thanksgiving ladies! I’ve been writing, but other things have been happening,, so am not able to focus and tie the next chapter down. Hope you are all keeping well, in the meantime. Much love, S
