“The kids will be sleeping in their rooms, the couch pulls out into a queen size hide-a-bed, we have a couple of air mattresses that will fit on the floor, and Bette will be sleeping with me,” answered Tina.

Bette turned and looked surprisingly at Tina, but she wasn’t going to complain, because she knew that’s where she wanted to be, next to her wife in bed.

“Mommy, can I talk to you for a minute?” Angelica whispered in Tina’s ear and winked at Bette. 

“Sure,” Tina answered and followed Angelica to her room. 

“You want me to come to?” Bette asked.

“No, I think I got it,” Angelica said with confidence.

“O.K.” Bette answered.

Angelica and Tina went to Angelica’s room and she shut her door.  She raised her hair up so Tina could see all the markings on her neck.  Tina observed five bruises on one side and one bruise on the other.

“Where did this bruise come from?” Tina asked of the bruise by the ear.

“That’s what I wanted to talk to you about,” Angelica stated.  “Remember the night I was supposed to spend the night with Kayla, but came home early?”

“Yeah,” Tina answered.  “I knew something must have happened, but I didn’t want to pry.  Is that a hickey?”

“Before you go giving a lecture or flipping out, hear me out,” Angelica snapped.

“O.K.  O.K.” Tina retorted.

“There was this guy at school that I thought was cute and I told Kayla.  She told me he was her cousin and that she would hook me up with him if I spent the night with her, so we made plans for me to stay the night.  He came over and we talked and hung out.  I found out about his girlfriend and pulled Kayla over to the side and told her nevermind.  I didn’t want to be with a player and she respected that.  Anyway, he left and we started talking about kissing.  She had never kissed anyone before and neither had I.  She leaned over and kissed me.  I felt compelled to kiss her back, and when the kiss started to get heated our hands started roaming, exploring each other.  She started kissing behind my ear, leaving the hickey, when her mom walked in and flipped out.  She promised not to tell you as long as I stayed away from Kayla.”
