Previously…..Carmen grinned at her “You love asking these questions don’t you? But to answer, no we are not together. Long distance relationships don’t work. And she was running from someone like me”.
Alice looked in the rearview mirror raising her eyebrows at Bette in the back.
“So about Shane?”

“Alice, I don’t want to talk about it at the moment. I’ve just got home, I really want to get back and relax and work on my career”
Alice nodded her head staring intently at the road in front of her “Okay as you wish. But sooner or later you will have to speak to her”.

Carmen sighed “I know Alice. I’m back in LA I’m going to bump into her a lot. I’m just hoping we can be friends.” She turned her head to look at Alice “When she came to New York we managed that. We were both civil towards each other and we talked about building a solid friendship but now, I don’t know. I have not spoken to her really since that day on your cell. And I haven’t told her I’m coming back so it will be a shock to her”
“you do know she is going to kill me don’t you?”
Carmen frowned “Why’s that?”
Bette laughed in the back seat “Alice didn’t tell anyone you were coming back. She kept it a secret. No one knows”
Carmen grinned “You kept it a secret. Wow! I wasn’t expecting that”
Alice sighed “I can keep my mouth shut when I want to. But Shane will be mad cause I did not tell her, I kinda promised I would”
“just blame me.”
“Oooo I was planning on it!”

Bette laughed shaking her head at Alice’s antics but in her head she knew Alice was right. Shane would not be happy when she found out Carmen was back and that they knew about it. She herself knew how hurt she was when everyone knew Tina was pregnant, she would have to talk to her.

“So here we are” Alice pulled the car over behind a truck “umm Bette?”
Bette looked towards Alice “Shit”
Carmen frowned “What’s up? Who’s is the truck?”
Alice turned her engine off and grabbed her bag. “Shane’s”

Carmen sat there for what felt like months but was only a second. “Well better now then waiting forever” She climbed out of the car and walked behind Alice and Bette, who were looking around, looking for any sign of Shane.
