@ Carmen’s

Carmen walked over to her mixing table.
“Carmen what are you doing?” Amanda asked following.
Carmen ignored her and put her headphones on, leaving Amanda shouting at herself.
“CARMEN!” she stomped over to her pulling the headphones off of her head.
“HEY!”
“What are you doing?”
“I don’t know what you mean?”
“Don’t play dumb with me Carm, you need to talk to her!”
“Amanda this doesn’t concern you!” Carmen retaliated instantly regretting what she said.
“Fine, if you think that way I’ll go” Amanda started to walk for the door but was stopped by Carmen pulling her back.
“I’m sorry” Amanda turned away from her “Please, I shouldn’t have said that. I just” she sighed “I just”
“You still love her” Carmen didn’t answer just looked down at the floor. “Carmen I know you do and its okay. I still love Sophie, I love her with all my heart and I know the same is true for you.”
Carmen nodded her head “Please don’t go”
“I think you need time to think things over and I need to get back to my flat – the fish will be wondering where I am”
“I know I said something stupid and I am sorry. I’m your girlfriend so it does concern you”
“Carm I need”
Carmen silenced her with a kiss “Please stay. I need you.”
Amanda sighed and walked over to the couch sitting down next to Carmen.

“Look Carmen I’m not the one you should be talking to. You need to talk to your friends back in LA and you need to speak to Shane”
“I know, just give it a few, let it calm down a bit”
Amanda laughed “Okay.”

“How Sophie take it?”
“It?”
“About us?”
“changing the subject are we?”
“I’m just curious, you used to speak about her a lot but you never really mention her”.
“The same could be said about you and Shane. But she took it okay, she dated a few people on the rebound and at the moment from what I’ve heard she is single”
“Where is she?”
“Back home, in Atlanta”
“Do you miss her?”
Amanda turned to face Carmen fully “This isn’t about me”
“But you told me she was the love of your life, it’s the same with me and Shane”
“Yes I miss her, I miss being there with her. I was with her 5years its hard not to”
“You know I should be jealous. But I’m not I’m just glad I have a very understanding girlfriend” Carmen leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. “I’m going to finish doing some mixes”
“You need to ring her”
“I will, but knowing Shane she needs time. And plus Alice and Bette will be there for her. I’ll ring her later”
Amanda nodded resting her head on the back of the couch and letting her thoughts drift back to other times.
