    “I’m here”

    After changing her sleep shirt Tina crawled back into bed.  As she moved towards Bette she saw that her body was trembling and she was crying into the pillow.  “Babe what’s wrong?”

     

    Bette didn’t reply, instead she turned and gathered Tina into her arms.  Her tears were flowing freely now as she cried for their son, for all the pain she had caused Tina and for what she almost lost the chance to ever hold the love of her life in her arms again.  Holding her tightly Bette realized that this was the most intense feeling that she had ever had they were here and they were together.  It wasn’t that Bette hadn’t shed her share of tears over all that had happened, yet somehow these tears were coming from a place deep inside her, hidden from everyone and everything except Tina.  The absolving of her remorse had finally come to fruition and she was beginning to forgive herself.

     

    Lifting her head off of Bette’s chest Tina began to gently kiss away her lovers tears.  Catching her face in her hands, Tina’s eyes searched through the pain reflected in the beautiful face beneath her.  As their eyes probed one another she whispered, “I love you Bette.  I always have and I always will.”  Bette suddenly looked so fragile to her that all she wanted to do was hold her forever safe ever in her arms. 

     

    “I was supposed to protect you Tina not destroy you destroy us.”  Bette’s lips began to quiver as she whispered, “I drove you from my life’

     

    “Shh baby I’m right here,” Tina said as she pointed to the bed.  “Here,” she repeated as pointing to Bette’s heart and you’re here Bette,” she said softly as she took her hand and placed it over her heart.

     

    “I want to sleep with you, wake up with you, and have a family with you.  I want nothing more than for us to grow old together,” Bette whispered.  “More than anything I want you to love me.”

     

    “You have no idea how much I do love you baby,” Tina said quietly as she kissed her on the chin.

     

    As they began to drift off to sleep, Tina turned over on her right side and pulled Bette tightly against her back.  As Bette wrapped her arms around her Tina took one of her hands and placed it over her breast, she heard Bette sigh contentedly as she softly cupped her breast.  She lay listening to the sound of Bette breathing softly against her ear.

    7. I hope remember to say NO tonight. She has been in a dry spell with Tina, Which is Tina fault she is being very hateful with Bette. I believe that Bette in the end will come out the winner. thanks

    20. Simply beautiful. Especially Bette finding it within herself to begin the process of grieving and forgiveness. It took a lot for Bette to finally allow herself to take that difficult step. At step that needs to be taken if she wants to have a lasting relationship with Tina and Liza. Thanks for this amazing chapter and story. Please continue.
